My first proper humour story in YOI; I don't know why it took me so long. Two after-party stories in the same exchange and both in Chris's room -- but it's such a fun set-up. My favourite thing has to be Phichit pretending to be Yuuri. He's very good at it.

Oh, Haikyuu!! I don't know why I haven't written a million stories for you. This was so fun to work on, these two have such a snarky relationship. My favourite thing was, of course, Bokuto. In fact, I kind of want to go back and edit Bokuto into both the YOI party stories because he would make everything even better. Also, I learned how to make a work skin to show the emojis properly.


I received three stories in two fandoms! The first one here was a late treat which was such a delightful suprise! All rare pairs, which is so awesome. I loved these all. ♥

I was trying to get this posted for Chris's birthday on Feb 14 but did not finish in time, alas! I've been thinking about this premise for quite a while and finally got on to it. Also, as I said on Twitter, my YOI fic seems to be 95% guys messily banging in hotel rooms and it’s making want to get a hazmat suit for my next biz trip.

Now to get my head into the game for the last Chris/Georgi instalment. If I disappear for a while, that's why. I write that pairing better when I'm basically just obsessing over it.

Pre-canon. A lot of gifts get thrown on the ice when Chris skates, some with more lace than others. After a competition, Chris and Victor have some fun.

A few things to keep in mind, about Yuri!!! on ICE and about any canon.

Word of God is not canon. What's on the screen or on the page is canon. Word of God is supplementary material that you are welcome to incorporate but you are not obliged to. We do not live in a universe where Greedo shot first!

Actions speak louder than words. People don't always say what they mean. They don't always know what they mean. When they try to explain their motivations after the fact, they may get them wrong or they may not be able to admit their true motivations. That applies whether you're taking a Doylist or Watsonion point of view.

Just because Kubo or Yuuri says, "hey, looking at these matching gold rings that canonically engaged couple JJ & Isabella are wearing makes me want to go buy a matching set of expensive gold wedding bands to wear on our wedding band fingers and exhange them with Victor on the steps of a church -- it will be just like that time my high school handicrafts club sewed matching bookmarks for everyone!" doesn't mean that was actually Yuuri's motivation, even if Yuuri tells himself it is. Or Kubo tells us it is.

People can't always articulate their feelings. One anime scene that strongly impressed me in years gone by was in Nana. Early on, Hachi and her boyfriend are away on a trip together. She asks him to tell her that he loves her. At first he says, "Don't ask a Japanese man to say that!" But he can tell she really wants to hear it, so he starts psyching himself up to it: I'm an American. My name is Michael. But he still can't say it and in the end, Hachi says it's okay, she heard him say it in her heart.

Obviously, not everyone will have that much trouble speaking about their feelings, but it's something to keep in mind.

Your interpretation is valid. I can interpret Yuuri and Victor's relationship in a lot of different ways and I really love that. You do you.

Personally, you will never convince me that Otabek is a DJ.

✔ Avoided dropping all my YOI & tenipuri WIPs to write ACCA porn (believe me, this is an actual accomplishment, at least this week!)

✔ Started making notes on the next Chris/Georgi instalment; should be the end of the narrative arc and I'm going to be both sad and relieved to be done. I've had the ending in mind for a while but now I have to work out how to get them there. Also, do more canon review. Chris at the GPF really kills me, I feel so sad for him. And when Victor says he's returning to skating, I can't help but feel deeply sad for Georgi as well. *kicks Victor in the shin*

✔ Started thinking maybe my potential exchange commitments for February and March are a bit much! But I really want to do all of them, so I don't know. "Moderation in all things" is a lesson I've never been able to internalize.

𝙓 Various life chores still undone, but that's chronic.

𝙓 Gave up on a Choc Box treat I hoped to write based on realizing I needed to get on with other WIPs.

𝙓 Did not get any back catalogue AO3 archiving done. To be honest, it's mostly that I don't want to spam people who have subbed to my updates with X-Files fic I wrote 18 years ago. If there's a way to add back-dated fic without triggering update emails, I would love to know what it is.
