Happy Birthday to me! Yes, today is that day when I get to feel like I've accomplished something simply by not dying yet. Whee!

Also born on January 26 are Ellen DeGeneres and Wayne Gretzky. I'm thinking that would be a fun threeway.

No big plans, as I don't like to have a fuss, just dinner with the Boy (if I can shake my headache by then). And then trying not to die for another year.

I usually like to post fic on my birthday and this year I took requests for short ficlets or drabbles. I won't be posting them all at once, especially since I don't have them all written yet. But I will start off with two this morning (in separate posts), one in my first fandom and one in my latest fandom.

It's been seven years in fandom now. And it's still cool.

Finally, I downloaded the Mac 1984 video. If you haven't heard, it's lost footage of Steve Jobs introducing the Macintosh. I watched it with a lump in my throat and one hand on my iMac. The Boy told me he cried when he watched it. There are torrents and direct downloads at the site. Watch it.

My mom got our first Mac in 1985, I think. It was the second model and it just said "Macintosh" on the front. Floppy disks, MacPaint, MacWrite. I played the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Infocom game on it.

And, damn, Steve is cute in the film.
