HP fantasy casting GIP

So, first there were Remus and Sirius .

And now there's Kingsley and Bellatrix .

And, of course, the Dark Lord .

Hmm, Lori Petty as Tonks?

You are strange. And now I want to see Remus/Sirius, if that's what they'd look like. ;-)

HEEEEEE!

I am laughing what's left of my ass off over the "used to be Dark but then had skin lightening treatments" Lord.

Bwah!

I love that Voldemort. So. Perfect.

And yeah, Lori Petty as Tonks works for me.

However, I tend to envision Angelina Jolie as Bellatrix. And maybe Cate Blanchett as Narcissa... Hmm...

I swear I think of Elizabeth Taylor as Bellatrix. Sort of the aging dissipated look.

Oh GOD, I'm dying over the Voldemort one. I bet he has a high, cold laugh and everything.

would make a fine Tonks, I think, provided she could pull off the accent.

*cracks up*

I think yours is my favorite fan casting yet.

[identity profile] phoenixw.livejournal.com 2004-01-05 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes! Very nice! And Voldemort? Pure evil. *snorts*

Two thumbs up for Lori Petty as Tonks.

YES to your Bellatrix. I was thinking that the other day.

I like your Sirius and Remus, even if they are a little too young, in my mind. But they are sexy, and that's all I care about at the moment. *g* So I have recast them in my head, and that will make it easier to think about them.

[identity profile] musesfool.livejournal.com 2004-01-05 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
We-ell...

They're only 35-36ish in OotP, per JKR (not that that's necessarily canon, but MWPP+Lily and Snape appear to have been born sometime between 1958 and 1960 - they're younger than Lucius, who's 41 per OotP canon).

Alan Rickman skews the whole thing older in the movies, because obviously, there's no way he's only 33-34ish in PoA, but mentally, yeah. We can do what we like. *g*

[identity profile] switchknife.livejournal.com 2004-01-05 06:13 am (UTC)(link)

Oh come one, Samuel Jackson is SO Shacklebolt!

Agree on the Dark Lord, though. Euch. And Remus. Yum.

I still think Sirius would be better off as... damn it, I just forgot his name! You know, that guy who starred in that Irish flick, 'In the Name of the Father'.

Juliet Landau as Bellatrix. I'm only shocked that it never occurred to me.

(And MJ as Voldemort? Scarily accurate. But I think you know that.)

Voldemort: The Dark Lord of Pop? I love it.

I've seen Ewan bandied about as Remus quite a bit, and I can see it to a degree, but he strikes me as more solid than I see Remus (unless we're talking Trainspotting-skinny). Hm.

Also, I adore Johnny Depp (have since Nightmare on Elm Street!) and think he'd do a great job with the acting, but his looks are so 100% American in my mind. Even when he's playing non-Americans, I never really think of him as anything but. Go figure. *g*

I love Juliet Landau as Bellatrix! She'd be great.

Hmm... how about Adrien Brody as a closer-to-age-appropriate Snape? (I like Rickman a lot, but he's too old!)

Fantasy casts are fun. ;)

[identity profile] mylexie.livejournal.com 2004-01-05 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so - who's this one you put up as Bellatrix? (Sorry people, but I don't know her!) I love Moony, Padfoot and Shacklebolt, and I know the perfect one for Tonks (that being me ;) - so love her, she's absolutely fab!)

As far as Kristin Scott Thomas is concerned, she's got class. And Rickman is the only man on the planet I fancy, so anybody anybody saying he'd too old, I have to disagree. He's just wicked.

Now there's the inspiration for yummy Remus/Sirius goodness if I ever saw it!

And Ewan as Remus.... *happy sigh* I could so see that!

God, so many people have commented already, but I have to say, thank God I didn't actually have my breakfast/lunch meatballs *in my mouth* when I saw the Voldemort icon. The noise I made is best described as a chortle, I think--a high-pitched, maniacal chortle.

I only wish Juliet Landau would play Bellatrix. My mental image of her is as a has-been opera diva who can't hit the high notes any more but insists on doing farewell tours where she mangles the Queen of the Night's great aria.

[identity profile] scribbulus-ink.livejournal.com 2004-01-05 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll join the others who are cracking up over the Jackson-as-Voldemort icon -- that is both inspired and hilarious. *g*

I like your other choices as well, particularly Ewan as Remus. For one thing, I love the full size version of that photo and the other two that go with it. Utterly, utterly lickable, and he's got his hand down his trousers to boot. Also, I would have loved to have seen Ewan in the role.
