I swear, I think of Michael Jackson every time I read this bit from GoF:

Whiter than a skull, with wide, livid scarlet eyes and a nose that was flat as a snakes with slits for nostrils...

So, Michael's nose isn't flat, but it is definitely quite odd with slitty nostrils.
