This is the cat that worried the rat that ate the malt that lay in the house that Jack built.

» I had a lot of weird dreams last night, but the best one was a Sesame Street segment starring Bert as a millionaire vampire who fought crime. I think he had a monocle.

» I was in a café downtown and there was a sign on the emergency door: Do not open door after dusk. What do you suppose would happen? A horde of zombies would rush in?

Oh no!
EVERYONE who likes dark chocolate tries that. I DID. My brother did. My dad bit into what was left on my brother's desk.

99% is VILE. And dries out your mouth.

I found I could only eat it with a latte on hand.

[identity profile] threefrog.livejournal.com 2007-03-13 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
yeah, I think the 80-something mark is the limit. I'd half like to see you try it straight. :D :D :D :D
you know, for science.
:D

*pokes*
so, how was it?

[identity profile] leviosa8.livejournal.com 2007-03-13 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
99% chocolate? Have some cereals at hand. It helped last time...

[identity profile] leviosa8.livejournal.com 2007-03-13 12:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder if that'll be enough. In any case, I really hope you share the results of the experiment with us :)

*smiles* of course not! That's when they have there Satanic rituals and sacrifice a thousand lattes to the holy spirit of cocoa.

What are your crimes? Are they anything like mine? I run across the road when the lights are red, defiant in the face of oncoming lorries.

I need coffee, but kudos to you.

The sun has been out for weeks here - it's the temps that can't make up their mind.

[identity profile] ell-dee.livejournal.com 2007-03-13 12:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck with 99% cocoa chocolate - I'd have a cup of milky coffee on hand if I were you.

Or, it might be lovely.

I haven't drunk caffeine for about five years. It's remarkably easy once you get used to it. It also means that a couple of sips of coffee have me higher than a small child on too much sugar. *is a cheap date coffee wise*

ZOMBIES! *cracks up*

In other news, I've been reading about Tibetan Buddhism, and I saw a photograph of a woman teacher who's supposed to be a reincarnation of a famous dead woman teacher, and she reminded me astonishingly of you in the face.

Good luck on the caffeine. I'm trying a dairy elimination for three weeks to see if perhaps I am still allergic to it.... *winces*

I had a lot of weird dreams last night, but the best one was a Sesame Street segment starring Bert as a millionaire vampire who fought crime. I think he had a monocle.

So basically he was muppet!Angel. Who really should have had a monocle.

I hear there's new SPN this week. About bloody time. Maybe I should finally make myself an icon.

You know about this week's guest star? I feel you would appreciate the casting.

[identity profile] kidouche.livejournal.com 2007-03-13 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I would sacrifice a goat to see Bert as a millionaire vampire fighting crime and wearing a monocle.

No...caffeine??? /failure to compute/ alf;js;af how do you do it

Hooray for the sun!

I have had a 91% bar that I thought was perfect, and not at all bitter, really. Intense, though. You must tell me how the 99% bar is.

I adore your Bert dream. (:

What type of chocolate is it? Personally, I've found Michel Clouzot's (sp?) 99% too bitter for my taste -- but I love their 85%. On the other hand, Domori's 100% is smooth and silky and very edible. I also had some English 99% chocolate (sent to me by a friend, unfortunately I can't remember the brand name, only that it was Chocolatier to the Queen) that was perfectly wonderful.

With most brands, I tend to prefer around 85%, but there are a few 99% - 100%s out there that I really enjoy.

Awesome. Is Ernie his manservant/feeder? Or is Ernie his cop friend?

I would so love a story like this.

Especially if it was set during Snuffy's invisible phase. I'm sure there's mileage in that!

99% Cocoa? Is that even possible? (How was it?)

#6: In defiance of the forecast, the sun came out today. I was glad.

Last Tuesday we had -40s (with wind chill) and today we had temperatures ranging from 8 to 16 Celsius. I'm actually kind of worried.

Oh my God ! What a marvellous sign !

99% ? Yay ! Want one !

Gave up coffee a while ago. I feel less jittery this way ...

*LJ-hops in*

(Don't worry, btw., I'm not a lurking stalker - just happened to find one of your LJ-entries when googling the Okane ga Nai OVA and recognized your name... so here I am. :P)

Even for fans of bitter chocolate, everything over 85% is getting harsh, mostly because of the consistency, but also the bitterness or blandness. (Or the stuff needs to be awesome quality, like from Coppeneur or other brands that create smooth textures and yumminess even at high percentages).
However, I can highly recommend making hot chocolate with real cocoa powder, and then to add one piece of such strong chocolate, leaving it to melt in the hot goodness. It contains a hell of a lot of caffeine, too, so be aware that it might keep you awake. :D I once drank a huge mug (with several chocoalte pieces added in) and was absolutely wide-awake at 1 AM. >.>
