1. Things have been going well on the contracting front, but while I have more free time than when I was working for The Man, I'm finding it harder to impose boundaries on myself and so I've had less brainspace for fandom in the last while. That is starting to change, I think. I mean, I almost worked on one of my WIPs this afternoon! I even gathered my index cards for it. There is hope for me yet.

2. Thank you everyone who left me book recs! But I could always use more.

3. Heroes rocks my world. God, Mohinder is pretty. And Claire. And oh my god I just realised that she's the same actor who played Ally's daughter in that last terrible season of Ally McBeal. *counts on fingers to see how old she is* Okay, I feel like a skeeze now. Let me finish by saying that Hiro is so cute that I want to put him in a box and poke him with a stick to see him jump.

4. Whose subs are you following for Death Note? I grabbed Live-eviL's for the first ep and it was fine. The anime looks great so far, very creepy. I love Raito Light so much. I never did finish reading the manga though. I'll put that on my list of projects.

5. kestrelsan talked me into watching Supernatural. I've seen 7 eps from S1 so far and I'm enjoying it a fair amount. It's nicely creepy and I really like how the boys have all that previous knowledge and experience to draw on. Sam kind of annoys me, though. Get a haircut!

6. All the Boukenger bumpers on the Kabuto episodes are making me want to slash Tendou and Akashi. Mostly because I want to slash everyone with Akashi, just so I can bask in his awesomeness. He's so cool, he must have apprenticed to Racer X.

7. I'm trying to figure out how I could obligate a bunch of people to write InuKai stories for me. Something like when you have a Tupperware party and invite all your friends and then they have to buy Tupperware to be polite. I'm still working out the details.

8. I'm in a really great mood today! Must have been all those raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens I got in the mail.

I grabbed the Toriyama's World subs, since they do good work (i.e. the guy doing the translating is actually the same guy doing the Viz manga translations. XD). They often get slow, though, so if they fall behind I'll probably go for Live-eviL, since they'd done something-or-other I watched in the past and don't remember any problems with. :)

I downloaded every AVI in sight, watched the Live-Evil version, compared the other versions, was vaguely annoyed at the Light thing being in EVERY version (though I'm going to guess the prevalence is an official romanization thing, since otherwise I cannot fathom how that romanization would be so common), and will probably stick with L-E because they're ok and their font is pretty. ;) If I keep watching. I'm notoriously lazy about watching things (don't ask me how I managed 178 eps of PoT). But I got spoiled for the Big Spoiler in DN around when it happened and it made me even MORE interested in the series, so.

The first episode of Heroes has been sitting on my HD for the past... week and I've yet to watch it and I really want to because everyone I know loves it, despite the dorktastic trailer. XD

Also, Toriyama's World. :D I just finished episode two raw and it's making me squee. Raito/Light is fantastic.

Much as I love Death Note, the second half of the manga is terribly boring and badly paced and I wouldn't really recommend anyone read it.

Oh and I think Heroes is a bit more naturally creepy than Supernatural weirdly enough (the latter tends to remind me of the Buffy/Charmed/Firefly genre of shows) But both shows are fabuloous since I love the guys (and the girls in Heroes are damn good so yay!)

Actually, I started D.Gray-man too, though I've only seen one ep yet. I heard good things about the manga and then I heard "Okiayu Ryoutarou" about the anime so I thought I'd give it a chance. *g*

I agree about Heroes. The protagonists are very much the ones in danger there and even with the whole super-hero thing, it seems less of a genre show. I'm actually not that wild about either Sam or Dean, but I also don't dislike them, so, so far so good.

I downloaded the first two episodes of Heroes and thought it was brilliant. Very different from anything I've seen before (not that I watch a lot of TV stuff). :)

I get my DN anime from Live-eviL. But if there are ever any problems with it I'll use Naruto.fan since I have a paid account there.

They sub it themselves, and are very reliable. I like their subs better than anyone else I've tired.

If Live-eviL are quicker I'll use them, but if I see Naruto.fan bringing the DN subs out at the same time I'll definitely go with them instead.

I keep hearing about Heroes but I've yet to discover what it actually is. Oh how real life eats up my free time... I did manage to watch Death Note though! I have Toriyama's World also, though maybe I should see Live-eviL's version and compare. I keep hearing Tamaki in certain parts of Light's speeches. :)

And Supernatural! I liked the first season but I seem to have lost interest in the second...but I was spoiled for it and, hm. I love Dean the best. ♥

Heroes is a show (NA live-action) about people discovering special powers, like they're mutants. But that makes it sound like X-Men and it's really, really not. It' a fast-paced show, well-written, great cast, with many plot threads that are entwined here and there and all slowly converging. Highly recommended.

I was going to ask what sub everyone was following for Death Note too! I went with Live-Evil because it seemed to have more seeders and seemed okay. Glad to know that most people are going with it too. So is Light's name actually Light in the original Japanese manga? What's the deal there? *confused*

So everyone thinks I should stop reading the manga after the [spoiler] ? Probably save me money.

I think that everyone is very pretty in Heroes. I'm glad it's a quality show. I hate it when shows take a great concept and then screw it up.
