"Why not?" Fuji says, slipping, as he always does, through the net of data Inui tries to cast around him.

There is no sufficient reason to refuse, no answer to why not?. Inui puts his glasses in his pocket and bends his head to Fuji.

"I thought your eyes would be smaller," Fuji says and moves in close, his tongue finding Inui's mouth before their lips meet. He lays one hand on Inui's face, fingers splaying along his cheek.

Inui puts his hands on Fuji's waist and they kiss, open mouthed and slow, lazy breaths of air on a hot August day, no more movement than is necessary.

Fuji's body is thin and strong against Inui, like a green branch that bends impossibly far and then snaps into your face. There is something behind his kisses that says, I'm holding something back. Don't you want to know what it is?

Why not? Inui thinks. He slides one hand up inside Fuji's shirt and tries to remind himself that this is just to pass the time.

They are both such great incidental characters. Fuji, especially. He just has to *be* there to change the situation. He's the quantum observer.

I love how one doesn't overwhelm the other. I mean, if I had to put money on one of them to be in control, I think I'd have to go with Fuji. Feelings over data, anyday. But Inui is holding his own still and that thrills me.

I'm so glad that came through, esp in such a short piece. I think Fuji is the only one who could dominate Inui in a relationship, but it would be a close, close thing. And part of the fun for both of them.

I'm kind of poking at them here, to see how they will be with each other so I can try something more next time. Just thinking about them together -- they are so hot.

Oh man. I could not have anticipated how perfect(ly hot) these two might be together; somehow it had never occured to me, but yes. In most pairings, the disparities are obvious-- but between Inui and Fuji, it would be so hard to know where it was, whose, where it was coming from. They're both so ... "grown-up" is the wrong word. Powerful? Cognizant? Also, the green branch simile is a perfect description of Fuji.

I'd been wanting to write something about them for a while because I suspected they would be hot, but the actual level of hotness kind of took me by surprise!

I was finding it difficult to think of scenarios to get them together so finally I cheated with this, just to get going. And now I have a real idea or two.

Inui is usually in control of his relationships, but with Fuji, not so much. I think that's part of what makes it so hot.

Okay, this is turning into an essay so I'll stop. And thanks. :)
