Well, except work. Also I have to game tonight. And tomorrow night. Dammit! We're doing Stargate d20 tonight. Maybe I can put a different cover on the book and say my character is consulting a book on the Maya. All night.

In other book news, I'm about 1/6th into Anansi Boys and it's just not grabbing me. It's enjoyable, but not compelling. Hmm. I'll finish it, but it's getting pushed down the list.

And I have the first bit of a (the?) FMA novel which I didn't even know was licensed until the Boy brought it home last night. I'll report on it once I've read it.

Now off to work read work. That's it, work.

That's too bad about Anansi Boys. I just ordered it last night, and I'll read it regardless out of solidarity. :D But even American Gods didn't really grab me. Did you read it?

I loved American Gods -- I've read it twice so far. Anansi Boys doesn't suck by any means, but I was expecting to be a little more absorbed by it.

Sorry, just wandering by from friendsfriends, and I saw your post about Anansi Boys, which so completely mirrored my reaction that I had to comment. I stopped about halfway through, not feeling any particular spark to convince me to read more right! that! moment! the way really good books do. However, someone else read it and convinced me to keep going, that it got better, and I have to say that she was right to do so. Gaiman has a slow buildup on this book, but I really liked it, by the end. Just my two cents.

I saw that FMA novel last night, and bought it after a little dance in the store. I skimmed the first few pages, and can't decide whether I think it reads like a good fanfic or not. o_o

I haven't checked it out yet. I didn't even know of its existence! Apprently, I'm on the list at the bookstore for anything FMA related. *g*
