Friday I'm in love

Wrote a thing for contrelamontre's Couch challenge. Marcus/Oliver, 45 minutes: Second-hand. (NB: Not "In Love" Marcus, just in case you were expecting him.)

Saw PotC again last night. I am now officially in love with Commodore Norrington. He's the dreamiest. The boy is convinced that Elizabeth should also be cursed since she stole the gold medallion from Will. I'm convinced that Will's hat is the ugliest thing ever.

Stargate is going slowly this week.

Hmm. This episode was well done, but I'm not fond of stories where someone has to betray all his friends. Even if they all find out in the end that it's just a ruse, how can the relationships ever be the same? Poor Daniel. Not to mention the POV cheat. And Thor and Jack didn't share any screen time! Bah.

Saying that seemed brilliant in the pub after a pint and a half: Time is money but money isn't time.

I don't usually post these MemeGen things, but this one was just too cute. *sigh* I only wish.

Anna's got a story set around SoG that I almost can't reread -- It starts right after 100 days, and just as they're getting back to comfortable with each other, Shades of Gray happens.

There's a lot of reasons why Season 4 is most people's favorite...

Yeah, 100 Days and Shades of Grey are a one-two punch for Jack/Daniel. *sniff*

I'm glad I don't have to wait long to see S4.

Each time I see "Pirates" I love Norrington more. He has my favourite line of the whole movie. ("...Contemplating the meaning of the phrase 'silent as the grave." Do I make myself clear, Mr. Sparrow?")

Jack Sparrow is still my favourite, though.

Norrington hit me hard the one and only time I saw Pirates. He reminded me of my darling Horatio.

Shades of Grey is just heartbreaking.

I really must check Horatio out. So many people are raving about him.

Ah, Norrington, how I love him so. They can keep Jack and Will (entertaining but not really my cuppa at the end of the day). Give me an officer in His Britannic Majesty's Navy anyday. I'll just blame this on my current Hornblower fixation and leave it at that.

Mmmm...love "Shades of Gray." The betrayal! The angst! I *love* the scene between Jack and Daniel at Jack's place. It never fails to break my heart. Yeah, I'm an angst junkie.

And you are right; we got cheated out of the Jack/Thor screentime. So not fair, the bastards. When it comes to a choice between Daniel and Thor, well, it would appear that Jack will choose his little gray snuggle bunny every time. Poor Daniel. Thrown over for a cheap alien floozy like Thor! ;-)

Mmmm, Norrington. He's so beautiful. And well-spoken. And he has a pretty coat. And he's pure and noble and good and true. She *so* made the wrong choice.

I think the thing I didn't like about Shades of Grey is that the POV character has info that we don't. So it's a little jarring to me.

You are quite right. I offer my sincerest apologies. OC, I now have this image in my head of Thor weating a Commodore's uniform, complete with tricorn hat as he tries to woo his beloved Jack, who in this scenario isn't really Jack at all, but rather Elizabeth. Soo...does that then make Daniel Will, and if so, will he be trading in his boonie for the tacky featered hat Will wears at the end of the film? And clearly, Teal'c will have to play Jack Sparrow because he's the only one with a ready supply of kohl.

Let the boy know that when Barbossa is explaining the curse he says very clearly, "Any mortal that removes but a piece from that stone chest shall be punished for eternity." Remember, the medallion was flung to the ground and then Elizabeth grabbed it. Jack was cursed because he took his coins directly out of the chest.

I've been in far too many online discussions hashing these things out already...although it really is a pretty impressively tightly-plotted movie, especially considering the genre.

I think Commodore Norrington is sex on legs. Oh yes. And he has that moment at the end -- the "give them a head start" moment when he is just sex. No legs. Oyyyy.

Barbosa makes the curse quite clear, however--you have to steal the gold from the chest to become cursed.
