I think it all depends on the pairing. With smooshed names it's easy, like umm.. Timbertrick from popslash. (I still hate 'Snarry' with a vengence and I'm glad 'Drarry' never caught on).

I rarely pronounce the '/' sign.. being 'MulderKrycek' or 'ScullyKrycek' *laughs* but in anime I think it's definitely '1 by 2'.

But I also think it depends who you're talking to. "I read a really good ScullyHolly last night" but for sake of clarity I might pronounce the slash sign. Which really goes against everything my 5th grade teacher taught me. *grin* "Young lady, it is *not* 'and slash or'!"

Now there's an interesting pairing. And/Or. Really opposite sorta fellas.
