Stargate question: Major Paul Davis. Is hot.

OK, that wasn't a question. But I'm working up to one.

Sometimes, in fanon, certain characters get consistently pegged (heh) as gay in fic even though there's no particular reason from the source material to think so. These characters are always gay, even if they are just a minor character. For example, in HP, Justin Finch-Fletchly.

So, my question: Is Paul Davis one of those characters? He just pings me that way. Not as canon- but fanon-gay.

I think Paul has a crush on Jack. In a manly, wish-I-were-like-you hero worship kind of way. But I think he's straight as the day is long.

Oh, sure, in canon he's straight. But in fanon, he's a Gay Sex God, right? Or a Tragic Gay God? Or That Gay Guy?

Well, in my mind now, he is. :)

If Paul is in a story, he's gay. At least in the ones that are labeled slash. And sometimes even in others. But I cannot recall a single story with him in it where he decides to shack up with Sam Carter, or some hot Tok'ra chick. If he's having sex, it's with a guy.

That being said, I have no problem with this type-casting and will happily read anything you care to pen incorporating this ubquitous piece of fanon.

I'd say he is. Not only is he virtually always gay, but mentions of his gayness are usually acompanied by mentions of his predatory designs on Daniel. I think this may be due to the fact that he doesn't interact too much with most of the characters. He has slightly more contact with Daniel... Well, and also, everyone is always mentioned as having predatory designs on Daniel. (I would think that it was just fanon lameness, but the whole thing with Hathor needing human DNA proves that canon Stargate will always manage to outdo fanon.) From what I've seen of Davis so far, he is rather neat and tidy, maybe even stylish, and he doesn't hit on the female characters. He is also hot. This means instant fanon gayness. (Some sort of fashion sense + hot + single = couldn't possibly be straight equation) Of course, I've only seen seasons 1-3 and a bit of 4 at this point, so I'm hardly a Stargate expert.

In the episode I saw yesterday, he was definitely panting and swooning over Jack in a "You're so smart! I would never have realized that an evil alien was impersonating me! Now, will you please get me out of this trap and I will love you forever" kind of way. In canon, hero worship. In fandom, lust. :)

WEll, obviously I'm going to say he's gay. In fact he's very gay. completely totally. Certainly the overwhelming majority of fanfiction casts him that way. He's jonesing big time for Daniel. Really he is. He also probably has a thing for Jack. It's all quite nice, really. He's doing Daniel, he's doing Jack, on one memorable occasion he was doing Teal'c. Oh, and on one even more memorable occasion he was doing both Daniel *and* Jack.

So the short answer is yep. :-D

As a matter of fact, he is, now that you mention it. I read on both sides of the fence, and the only time he ever has sex is with Jack or Daniel and sometimes Teal'c (but only in a threesome/foursome kind of way because Teal'c hardly ever has sex with just one person.) Wait, he might have had a fivesome with everyone and that's about as close as he got to a woman. Yeah. Fanonically gay.

I think it's the top Page Ranked. How they worked that out I have no idea, but I think you may be right, the fact that you link to your LJ from every one of your webpages might boost your rank, because of how Google pageranks.
