Monday night TV
Back on track with the usual TV fest.
Trailer Park Boys: I've Met Cats and Dogs Smarter Than Trevor and Cory
This is one of my fave eps ever. The prison guards Ricky and Julian are growing the marijuana for are selling the dope along to ten other prisons across Canada and they need a lot more. To get money for more hydro gear, they set up a "licensed" bar and casino in J-Roc's mom's trailer. Cory and Trevor are given the job of putting out flyers for it. Which they do at a new bar called "The Empty Closet" which is just exactly what you imagine it is.
Best part: Trevor and Cory, who went off with two drag queens, thinking they were women, talking the next day. "I didn't do anything, did you do anything." "I didn't do anything, unless you did something." "No, but if I did do something...if the girl does something to you and you don't do it back, then you didn't do it, right?"
Trailer Park Boys: A Dope Trailer Is No Place For A Kitty
This ep is saaaaaaaaad. Ricky and Julian put their dope growing operation ahead of their friendship for Bubbles. *sigh* But it does include one of Mr Lahey's best shit metaphors: we're riding the shit cyclone to Oz.
Six Feet Under: Pilot
This show is finally airing in Canada so now I get to see it. I watched this ep on Sunday night and then again with D. since he'd forgotten about it. My god, but this show is excellent! It's visually brilliant and the dialogue is amazing and it just blew me away. It should surprise no one that my fave character is David, from the first moment I laid eyes on him. Query: is Claire too young for me to think she's hot without it being creepy?
X-Files: Miracle Man
A weird, weird episode. It needed to be about five minutes longer to explicate the plot better. Apparently, the best pickup line you can use on Mulder is to say something about his sister and his pain. D. went on about Vancouver -- "you can tell just from looking at the sky that that's Vancouver!". He now has a book about all the TXF locations there which I hope to read once he's done. Maybe we should do an away trip there and recreate the scenes in the various places.
D. has expressed interest in watching Stargate as well. "They film that in Vancouver, don't they?"
No time for Buffy this week. I'm not sure how we'll fit everything in if we watch Six Feet together every week as well.

6FU is a very cool show, and I love David's story arc in the first season. It's almost painful to watch at times, but a lot of my favorite episodes from that first season were about him. I can't say I loved him right away, but he did grow on me--and Keith is just plain HOT. *g*
As for Clare, I don't think it's creepy at all. The actress is actually 25, and the character is, I think, 17 in the first season. Maybe borderline for some people, but I suppose it depends on where your perv line is. *g*

And we *love* that show around our house. LOVE it. We don't get HBO, so we go on a DVD-watching binge as each season comes out (same as we do with Sopranos), which seriously warps us for days afterwards.

If the actress is legal, then I think I'm good. *whew*

There's a plague of locusts and a wonderful shot of Scully sharpening a huge knife before starting an autopsy.

I was sneaky and just started watching it, so my husband came in at the middle of an episode. For several minutes he thought it was a *real* reality show - "they're talking about this on camera? who are these guys?"
I think my favorite moment so far is when Ricky gets arrested during his wedding, and Julian shoots his gun off so he'll go to prison, too.

Yeah, that was lovely. That's really the only time their co-dependent non-gay love veers into slashy territory.
