Fandom Snowflake: Day 7 & 8

Day 7: In your own space, create a fanwork.

I don't have a completed fanwork to post but since I spent all day yesterday working on a WIP (and that's on the docket for today too), I'm going to call this one complete.

From Twitter: ✍️ Weekend Goal: barf out the shitty first draft of my WIP no matter how much my personal life suffers.

Day 8: In your own space, make a list of at least 3 things that you like about yourself.

Sure, let's go:

- I'm funny. In person and in my writing, when I mean to be. But now that I'm on the spot, I can't think of anything funny to say.

- I'm scary. I have what I call the "fuck-off field" which usually keeps people from randomly talking to me or sitting next to me if there's a seat free somewhere else. Since I'm also an introvert, that's just fine with me! (I have noticed it waning as I age so I'm trying to improve my resting murder-face this year.)

- I dance at my standing desk while I work. I currently have my own office, so that works out well. Usually it's happy dancing but I have noticed some angry dancing from time to time.

And that's enough self-aggrandizement for this morning!

I like the sound of you, and I envy you the resting murder-face! My resting face is bovine stupidity, which is less exciting.

Thanks! I'm not sure how I'm going to make it more murder-y but I'm sure I'll think of something.

It would be good for my overall health if I had my own office and a standing desk so I could dance. My boss has a set-up where she can work standing or sitting because she has an ongoing problem with the veins of her legs (that's the best I can explain it).

After I had mine for about 2 weeks I was completely sold. I have a bar stool that I can sit on when I need a break but standing seems way better for me overall. Now I just have to figure out how to get up off the couch more at home.

I have always been deeply envious of both your ability to write humor and your ability to deflect passers-by. Gotta try some desk-dancing. That sounds like something I could enjoy.

The desk dancing has got me through some stressful times at work! Put some ABBA on your phone and we can have a remote dance party.

Go you with the dancing - it's a thing that being in fandom means sedentary days *points at self* and dancing of any sort is only a good thing. :)

Yeah, maybe I should have said my strong point is being really serious all the time. :)

I think it's the way aging genericizes (not a real word) us in the eyes of the world. I kind of want to do some A/B testing to see if red lipstick would restore some of the scariness.
