I don't think I posted about Ruin here before, except in the 2016 roundup, but it's been up for a while. Starstruck is new. Both Chris/Victor. I kind of think of these stories as the first blowjob and the last blowjob. :) I do want to write more Yuuri/Victor but, as always, I'm mostly stuck on rarepairs.

Also, I'm beavering away on the next Chris/Georgi instalment but it's kicking my ass and will probably be a while yet. In the meantime, shiritori (writetomyheart) waits for no fan.

I know I haven't gotten around to commenting on all your fics individually so I wanted to take the chance to say generally how much I've been enjoying your writing in this fandom.

From watching reaction videos on YouTube I have the impression that a lot of the fandom is lukewarm-to-negative about Chris. To be fair, he did seem a bit one-note to start off with, but it may also be that 'mature eros' is not to everyone's taste. That longstanding bond with Victor was sketched out so powerfully in ep 10, in remarkably little time, and I can't believe that there are still less than 25 Victor/Chris fics on AO3.

And then Georgi! Bless his suffering, emo Russian soul. I would never have thought of Chris/Georgi as a pairing, but my god it works and I can't wait to see where you go with it.

Anyway, I remembered your name from X-Files fandom and when I saw that you were writing for YoI I gave a little internal cheer. I really like your understated approach, the way you lay it out and let the reader draw their own conclusions, rather than rushing in to resolve and explain right up front. And maybe I do like fic with that slight tinge of melancholy. :)

I loved Chris all along but, yeah, I do think a lot of fandom was pretty turned off and only gained back some goodwill with episode 10. And I can understand why most people wouldn't be interested in a pairing that breaks up (or preceeds) the juggernaut. But I feel like there is a lot in Chris & Victor to explore, even if we just stick to pre-canon.

Oh, Georgi! I always fall for these hot mess side characters. I only paired him up with Chris because I wanted to write Georgi with someone and Chris was conveniently there at the tournament. But I got really invested and here we are. I'm into the hardest part now, I think, but I'm enjoying working on it.

I've run into several people from the X-Files days in YOI fandom! One of the greatest things about the canon is it's brought in friends I never expected to share a fandom with again. I never thought a sports anime would blow up like this but YOI is just that special.
