Fandom Snowflake: Day 3

In your own space, set some goals for the coming year.

- Write more fic and at least some meta. I've committed to [community profile] getyourwordsout  for 75K this year, so I'm hoping to meet or surpass that.

- Post and interact more on DW (and still LJ). I've reconnected to some old friends and met new people through the multi-fandom friending meme and I'm excited to get to know everyone better!

- Not let fandom take over my whole life. I tend to be a bit obsessive with my hobbies and while I understand moderation in all things intellectually, it's hard to internalize.

- Seriously think about whether I need to make a career change.

Career change! I didn't know you were considering that. I look forward to hearing about it.

Thanks for the link to the friending meme! Finally switching to DW has me really wanting to journal more, but few of my fandom friends have made the switch so my reading page is looking pretty lonely.

A fellow GYWOer! I hope this challenge helps you. They post some great discussions. Do you have any plans on how to not let fandom take over your life?

I feel you on needing to find a way to not let fandom take over your whole life. I made that a goal last year and sought of achieved it but mostly just went a bit mad and mopey. I'm trying again this year, and hoping to do it in a less unhappy kind of way.

I wrote more in 2015 than 2016, but altogether they weren't great years for writing. 75k seems like a good goal though, reasonable with a bit of dedication (and with a few YOI ideas buzzing at the back of my head, way more achievable).

Best wishes thinking over the career change. Depending on how this year goes, I might be thinking about it too.

Well this 4-5k fic is rapidly turning into a 6-7k fic, so. It sure has! ^^;;

That's fair. Applying for jobs is a grind either way and scary if you're new to the field.

Not let fandom take over my whole life.

Well, except for producing more YOI fic, one hopes. Okay, I hope.

More seriously, I'm facing a change, and it's daunting. There might be a return to school and I feel a million years too rusty.

I have this problem too, majorly. It's just so easy to let our obsessions run wild! Good luck on all your goals :)
