So the boy bought me a copy of Maxim so that I could ogle Lucy and Drew. (He had previously ogled them at the bookstore.) They are truly ogleworthy. After I had duly ogled, I thought I might as well read the magazine.

It's hysterical.

Everything uses this faux casual tone and there are many odd slang terms for penis ("pink torpedo", "pork hammer"). I read a most useful article on picking up women and a guide to "staying up all night". There was a quiz about how a bevy of starlets groom their pubic hair. More photos of hot, half-naked women. And a story about buried treasure. I still have to read that one.

All in all, a fun experience, but not one I'm likely to repeat.

A final Maxim thought to leave you with: Surfing, like autoerotic asphyxiation, is tough to master but worth the effort.

I'm sure it would have bothered me more were it not for the fact that whenever I hear the words "autoerotic asphyxiation" I think: "Mulder! Clyde Bruckman!" and then I laugh.
