Torchwood: 2.04 Meat
I ♥ Rhys so much. Otherwise, not my favourite episode. And as I've said to a few people, Ianto should not be a badass super stungun hero. He should sit in the car and think up his snarky comments. The pacing was kind of bad. And the Jack-Gwen UST feels so forced. But Jack flirting with Rhys's assistant made me pause and take a happy moment.



SPN 3.10: Dream a Little Dream
How hot was Sam in this episode? How surprised am I to be writing that? Also, for half a second I thought there was some Bobby/Bella going on and that was pretty much the best thing ever. The episode itself was dumb but it was nice to see Dean come around. And for Sam to get at least a little Anti-Christ-y, even if the symbolism was Way Too Blatant. And now I'm ready for some fluff to take the edge off.



Kamen Rider Kiva 1.01
Looks good so far, though I wish the actors were a little older and a little less pretty. It seems pretty over-the-top even for toku, but I think that could be okay. I like the whole bat motif. And kick-ass girls. Which is a step. Now can we have a female Rider please? (Yeah, there were a few in the movies, but that's not the same thing.)


In other news, this is pretty much the best kind of weekend, where my partner is out at social events most of the time and I don't have to go along, so I get to flake out and watch sit-com reruns and drink scotch right out of the bottle.

I have a huge crush on badass!Ianto. But otherwise I agree - not a great episode at all!

John Barrowman is not a good enough actor to pull of emotion without doing cheesy.

Jack/Gwen UST is all kinds of wrong.

It actually seemed like it was written by someone who had seen all of season 1 but hadn't been told anything about the events of season 2 leading up to this episode. Most strange.

And the alien!whale special effects were beyond crappy.

there were bits and pieces of meat I loved, but mostly? moo. and much as I love Ianto with a stun gun, that is not his role.

I started the torrent for H&C 3. I am still not sure what I think. It is good, if you want to take it as a stand alone - but it pretty much is NOT H&C.

yeah. I like it, but I am not overly familiar with the anime (just the movie and the first 4 or 6 vols of the manga). Plus I have learned to suspend my disbelief in dramas based on popular works, as none of them ever go the way I remember.

I don't bother being behind any more. I just gave up.

Jack flirts with practically everyone else so much better... him flirting with Gwen is so awkward for some reason (maybe because of the personality switch that seems to happen when they interact 'seriously'?).

It's like they have the anti-UST. You're right about the seriousness -- they were a lot more sparky in the beginning of the series.

Ianto's just been so weird all season. His jokes in episode 1 were tasteless, and now he's got this Creepy Killer Robot thing going. (What did he say when he tased the guy in the head, anyway? I replayed it three times and still couldn't make it out.)

I'm really worried they're trying to set him up for some kind of lame plot twist. Like he's really Jack's long-lost brother or something.

Hahah, Torchwood was bloody awful. Jack's corny 'Oh my poor friend' like made my whole family laugh out loud.


I did like his 'this is rather homoerotic' line though. :D
