You know that part in The Sound of Music where Liesl sneaks into Maria's room, soaking wet, and Maria tells her that she wants to be her friend and why doesn't she get out of those wet clothes and into Maria's bed?

I think about that sometimes.

I had never and now I'm going to every time I watch it.

I think I should watch The Sound of Music.

Another childhood movie I can never look at the same way again. Huh.

A pretty good Liesl/Maria story actually exists. I'm sure there are more somewhere....

I just love that movie more and more.
It's no good to re-watch the movies of your childhood with your current slasher eyes.

I'll be humming that song all day night. It has all new meaning for me now.

Hooray, I'm not the only one!

It's so different when you say it.

The Sound of Music will never be the same again.

Hey, a governess's work is never done! Of course it makes the whole, "I should like calling you Mother," bit later in the movie a little disturbing. By which I mean, BETTER.

You've warped my brain.

[identity profile] kestrelsan.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 03:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, RIGHT. More like, look what your years of brain-warping has wrought.

Did I ever tell you I took a Sound of Music tour? Where they drove us around to all the places they filmed, and we got to see the gazebo and the back of the house (they used separate houses for front and back), and the inside of the church where they got married, and they played the soundtrack the whole time in the bus?

When you win the lottery, we need to go do that.

IT WAS AWESOME. But Rupert Grint would make it more awesome. Maybe he would sing along.

I just watched Kaidoh and Momo SAVE A PUPPY.

!!!!!! It's like their own furry little soul-bond.

If I burned you just the MomoKai episodes, would you watch those?

I would! I still want to watch the rest of what you sent me--I think the two issues for me are that my DVD drive on my PC acts up, so while I can always get it to load, it takes some coaxing. Also, I sometimes get impatient with the slowness of the action; does it tend to speed up later? Or will I not notice once I get into it? For MomoKai I can deal :).

My friend, you are hilarious. You just made my day. I was seriously lol. SoM will never be the same. XD

[identity profile] amanuensis1.livejournal.com 2008-01-28 09:11 pm (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, okay, that scene's completely changed for me now.

This post just made my day.

Those are good, A+ thoughts. I approve.

[identity profile] kumquatweekend.livejournal.com 2008-01-29 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Huh.

...

So THAT'S why I've always liked that scene so much!
