prillalar: (cheese)

Five things

Thing the first: [livejournal.com profile] mousapelli, how are you so awesome? Your package made me grin and grin. *smooch*

Thing the second: There are so many shows I should be catching up on but someone uploaded Kamen Rider Agito subs and I'm sucking them back as fast as I can. Houjou is my bastard boyfriend forever! And I can't tell you how excited it made me the first time someone said, "Henshin!" I'm the biggest dork ever. ♥

Thing the third: I have to use Windows at work. For thirteen years, I've been doing all my internet dev work on a Mac. And probably using BBEdit all that time. Now I need a new editor to do HTML/PHP/everything in. Any recommendations for a good Windows text editor?

Wishlist:
- robust syntax colouring
- keyboard shortcuts for HTML tags
- a menu to quickly find functions on the page
- code collapse (which BBEdit actually doesn't have)

Thing the fourth: I plan to spend the long weekend telling myself I should be writing InuKai but really just drinking martinis and reading.

Thing the fifth: I like cheese. And you.

You always make me crave cheese.

Woe, for I am in Japan, where you have to pay a fortune for good cheese. :((

I've been eating a lot of brie lately. I think this is a result of your considerable influence.

Mmmmm, have several martinis. Lucky.

I have never done much coding beyond HTML but I remember mostly liking Dreamweaver? The whole wysiwyg thing was annoying to me but I think you could turn that off and just code things by hand. I used it years and years ago, but I just googled it and found that the newer versions of the program now have support for php, css, &c., and apparently also code collapse, whatever that may be, and syntax coloring, but no word on whether or not it's robust.

You should write InuKai while drinking martinis. This way everyone wins. :)

I'm a fan of Editpad, but it's really a text editor with a few extra HTML features and not a program designed for hand-writing HTML. Check out the Pro version, though, it might have at least some of what you're looking for.

(The program I used to use for hand-writing HTML last time I was doing actual web work, I LOVED to tiny little bits, but it got bought by Macromedia or something and I'm not even sure I could remember the name of the thing.)

i'm sure many before me have pointed this out, but omg, your mouse has a kaidoh!bandana. that is the cutest thing i've seen all day. *___*

...I think you should write fic where Inui makes a special martini for Kaidoh. It could work ;)

Have a good long weekend!

I like dreamweaver, but I rarely need to use it now adays.. may not be most friendly for everyday work. *shrugs* but it may be.

I am banning cheese for the moment.

It is nothing against the cheese. It is something against the price and my wallet not agreeing.

The Windows code editor I used to appreciate was Homesite (http://www.adobe.com/products/homesite/productinfo/features/), which was the closest thing to BBEdit I was able to find for the Windows platform. It was moderately groovy. This was, however, before Macromedia bought it, so gawd only knows what it's like now. Looks like more features, which could be a good thing or a bad one. (: There's a 30-day free trial, so that's something.

Nice to see you posting. ::mwah::

THAT'S the one. Oh, how I miss you, Homesite, even though I can't be arsed to do any more HTML work now anyway.
