I keep writing "sol invictus" on everything.

The rising of the sun, the running of the deer,
All merry people rise and greet the turning of the year.

Every year on the winter solstice, I worry that the sun won't actually rise the next day and we will live in darkness forever. So, I'll probably spam you with posts today, just in case.

Thing 1: I have stopped washing my hair. Now, you might think that this is the result of some sort of seasonal depression where I never change out of my pyjamas and forgo any attempts at basic personal hygiene. But you would be wrong. My pyjamas are just comfortable, that's all. And I finally realised that my hair looks like shit if I wash it every day. Even on day 2 it looks all fluffy and horrible. I wonder if I can just not wash it at all ever again. How often do you wash your hair?

Thing 2: I watched Part 1 of the new Garo special. I liked it a lot, very stylish, like the show always was. However, there was a big flaw. I mean, besides Kouga's leather pants. How do they get him into those things? There must be baby powder involved. No Kaoru! Well, except for a fake Kaoru in one scene. But she was the reason I kept watching the show in the first place. Who cares about all the hot boys fighting monsters and each other? Well, okay. But still. On the other hand, Zero's leather pants were quite pleasing and, god, Rei is looking fine. And Tsubasa, the new boy! Could he be any prettier? Could he and Zero please fight each other until they're exhausted and then rest up and then have sex until they're exhausted again? I hope Jabi has some serious asskicking in part two, because she's just too cool to be the damsel in distress. And I hope Kaoru shows up and says she wants to move to Canada and marry me. Cause I'm way cooler than that boring asshole Kouga.

Thing 3: I like cheese.

I quit washing my hair over the summer -- I basically scrub some dandruff shampoo into my scalp, because otherwise I die of itchiness, and rinse it right out. My (dry, curly, medium-length) hair has never looked better. (I also quit combing it. Who know low maintenance could look so good?)

I aim to shower every other day, but often it's every third or fourth, depending on current levels of The Laze.

Sometime when I have a few days off, I may have to try not washing my hair just to see how it goes. Also I need a haircut.

I know I have Havarti in the refrigerator. Problem is that I am at work. Woe. I'll stuff some in my face when I get home.

Thing 1: I wash my hair every few days.

Thing 3: I believe we already knew this? ^_~ At any rate, any suggestions? Certain flavors/types that you've recently discovered you love? Bueller?

i wash my hair every other day (with 2-in-1 shampoo because i am much too lazy to deal with separate shampoo and conditioner XD) -- it usually gets pretty greasy by the end of the second day though. :S but reading the other comments, i'm thinking that maybe i should start washing my hair less...

You can get away with not washing your hair if you're willing to stick with it for a few weeks - [livejournal.com profile] no_poo because like everyone said, your hair will eventually get used to it.

I think though, that you just have to work out when your hair gets grossly oily and wash it then. For me that's every 2 days, but it seems longer for you.

Please take our sun. The fires are burning like crazy here :(

Late to the party, but...

I wash my hair about twice a week, or every third day. I realize that nowadays, a lot of people think this is gross, so I don't usually mention it. My hair is *extremely* dry, and washing just strips the oils right out of it and turns it brittle and frizzy. I think it's looked and behaved much better since I stopped washing it every day.

Back when white women had their hair "done" in salons, they would go a week or more between washings. I understand that lot of women of African descent, especially if they have their hair relaxed, wash their hair less frequently than daily as well.

If I don't wash my hair every three days it looks horrible, puffy and greasy. I'm okay with that, especially in winter when having to dry over two feet of hair is not nice. Then again, having two feet of hair to dry is never nice. But it looks best after I wash it... It does this to annoy me, I know.

I have to wash my hair every day or it looks godawful. Sometimes on weekends, if I know I'm not going anywhere, I'll let it go for one day.

3 - Cheese is awesome in many different varieties.

1 - Every two days. If I leave it longer than that it becomes disgustingly greasy and looks lank and lifeless. I refuse to wash it any more often than that because it's really long and takes forever and a day to wash and dry.

I wash my hair every other day when 'm home for more than a day. If out, then I wash daily.

1. I wash mine once a day. If you're having trouble with your hair, maybe you can try switching to another brand of shampoo? What are you using now anyway?

3. Am lactose intolerant. I miss out on a lot of finer things in life. :(

My hair looks like shit by default because of curly. I wash it every three days, and rub black-woman moisturizer on it the rest of the time so that it doesn't look like refried yuck.

way more than anyone wanted to know about my hair

As a lover of cheese myself, I like that you frequently proclaim your love of cheese.

Hair: Isn't it common knowledge that hair always looks better the day after it's been washed? Anyhoo, I have long, very thick, frizzy/wavy (depending on weather) hair. I wash it when it feels overly oily or itchy, which is usually every 3 to 7 days. Whenever I use product on it to make it awesome or blow it out, it should be washed the next day or the one after that, though this does not always happen.

I'm curious about this whole "letting it go and your scalp will adjust" concept though. My mom does this and I'm not sure it's the better option, but maybe one needs to rinse it regularly? Did the entire human race just have nasty hair until shampoo and conditioner were created? (this seem possible, if unlikely) I have noticed huge differences in my own scalp health and hair softness depending on the shampoo/conditioner (if any) I use though.

Joins with you in curly-solidarity. Man, the people who just wash and comb it and then can wear it down no problem... I almost cannot conceive of life like that.

I wash my hair every three days. Otherwise it gets greasy and nasty. >:E
