I like coffee.

Today is my last day of regular employment. I have a migraine, which seems fitting. I should be able to get through by A. consuming massive amounts of caffeine and B. reminding myself that it's my last day!

Ideally, I wouldn't be consuming caffeine at all. My life tends to go a lot better when I don't have to make coffee before I can feel awake in the morning. I spend less money and less time wanting to crawl underneath my desk with a blanket over my head. (Though that can be very relaxing.) But it creeps up on me. A migraine here, a sleepless night there, a project that I have to focus focus focus for. Next thing you know, I'm on three cups a day.

Last week I went into one place I've been going regularly and ordered a Shot in the Dark, because I was just that sleepy. "You used to get decaf," the barrista said. "Even I don't get a Shot in the Dark!"

"I'm tired," I mumbled. He doesn't know that I've been going to two other coffee houses as well, so nobody will really know the level of my consumption.

Tomorrow I will start cutting back. I will read all the fic I have open in tabs. I will go for lunch with a book and have a beer.

I will breathe.

*scary*
those last day bits. Days of decaf led to buying lemon verbena tea. woe. It's like leaf things in hot water without the tea-caffeine kick.
*soggy*

the other bag I got was Camomile.

I wish you strength for your Last Day and your migraine, and some sort of rapid-time-passing device to hurry you along to the breathing.

I found Starbucks in London. :\ All I can say is that god there was never one in the city where I went to college, or I possibly would have given myself a heart attack from caffeine consumption.

But there's going to be Starbucks in Dublin. Am doomed.

Tomorrow I will start cutting back. I will read all the fic I have open in tabs. I will go for lunch with a book and have a beer.

I will breathe.

That sounds like a great plan. :D ♥

Congrats, Hal! Good luck today. ♥ But having a migraine sucks. >< I get them, too, so I know how awful they are. Do you have medication for them?

Hahaha. Shot in the Dark. My roommate orders those all the time. I can't handle them. @__@ But I still love coffee. I need it every morning, or I feel wonky. I suppose that means I'm addicted. XD

Yay lunch and books and beer and breathing! All very important things. *nod*

Hurrah for last days. I hope you enjoy all your tomorrows.

Well that's a mistake, the high school year book thing. Because in there I *meant* to write, "I hope one day I can say, 'I knew you before you wrote beastiality!'" I don't know how that hallmark card came out. Must have been the zombies.

(And thank you!)

Yay last day! =D

If it weren't for coffee, I wouldn't be the pleasant, well-adjusted human being I am.

And I can't have beer, so I have to have something. Honestly, the barista at Starbucks knows my favorite drinks - all six of them and their variations.

It's really quite sad :(

Haha, I'm imagining the kind of telethon you and I could host.

But yes, Hal = beer.

Coffee and tea are essential to modern industrial civilization, and have been since the 18th century when we were inventing it. Especially coffe, because the Sufis discovered it-- small yay.

Congratulations on being *done*.

Next weekend would be fine. My Sundays are all open for the foreseeable future.

"I'm tired," I mumbled. He doesn't know that I've been going to two other coffee houses as well, so nobody will really know the level of my consumption. Sounds like everyone in my class, actually. My uni may very well be single-handedly keeping Kenco in business, who knows?

Huzzah for the last day. Sorry about the head.
