1. Do you know of any good resources on plotting and structuring short stories? Googling has turned up a lot of stuff on novels and screenplays, but I haven't found anything on short stories.

2. Whose Bleach subs are you watching? We've been following Lunar, but they're a bit behind, and thus so are we. I tried Hellfansubs, but didn't really care for their sub. Any recs?

3. William Shatner vs Charlton Heston Cage Match. Who's your money on?

Charlton Heston. He can probably call down lightning bolts or something. Or part the Red Sea and then trick Shatner into walking into the part right before he lets it all flow back where it belongs.

It would be a great showdown to see. So long as Shatner didn't beam up just before the water swallowed him up.

The Dattebayo Bleach subs are decent. The filler is, um, not so much.

Yeah, the filler seems a bit weird.

Whose scanlations are you following? I'm getting the volumes as they come out from VIZ, but I didn't want to take the time to follow scans as well. Maybe I should rethink that.

The filler is almost watchable for the blatant Ichigo/Renji, but it's messing with the plot as well as killing great great character moments now, which makes me sad because the manga plot is so awesome.

Pretty much the only scanlation group doing Bleach now is Maximum 7 (http://www.maximum7.com/). They do a decent job and are reasonably fast -- sometimes really fast, sometimes not -- but they've only been scanlating since the 160s or so (there was this awful weeks-long lull right around the time we got to see Ichigo's bankai, when the old group dissolved, I guess, and then M7 picked it up). You can find all the chapters they've done at Bleach7 (http://bleach7.com/) or Bleach Portal (http://www.bleachportal.net/bleach/). The Soul Society arc ends with chapter 181, so that's probably where you'll want to pick the manga up from. If you want the older stuff you'll probably have hit StopTazmo (http://www.stoptazmo.com/bleach/). And you should get the old stuff at some point, because the VIZ translations are awful and make me cry.

So Bleach is worth watching? I've never heard anything about it, but I keep seeing it on the Dattebayo site alongside Naruto.

Bleach is really, really awesome. Highly recommended. It's not a fic fandom for me, so I don't usually post about it. Also, the Boy is watching it too, so I just discuss it with him.

Shatner really does rock. But I'm still more on the Heston side. Actually, when I watch his old films, I think of him as sort of the ur-Shatner.
