Last hockey post until, um, the Olympics.

(For Olympic hockey, there will be icons.)

CANADA! CANADA! CANADA! After the game, some guys in the pub started singing O Canada. :) I didn't join in, but just because I wasn't on the cool side of the pub.

BUT! What the hell was up with that non-goal in the second period? That was so Russia's goal! I'm glad the game wasn't close, or the win would feel tainted.

{{{Khudobin}}} I did feel badly for you.

In this space, please imagine fanart of Mitsui with a mullet, without his false teeth, wearing a Shohoku hockey uniform. Isn't he lovely?

This'll be an odd year for Olympic hockey. Usually we root for Canada, because it used to be that most of our guys (Red Wings) who got to the Olympics would play for Canada (or Russia). This year, only Kris Draper is playing for Canada and we've got two guys playing for the USA (Chris Chelios and Mathieu Schneider), so I guess I'm going to have to root for the home team for once. *g*

We should have a decent rivalry there, eh? I couldn't help but notice that we beat you guys 5-3 in the last pre-Olympics game. *g*

The last time when you beat us, you mean? Or the time before that, when we beat you? *g* It would indeed be cool to have that final. It's not like the rest of the world's teams need medals, or anything.

I was a teenager before I found out that the interrogative form of "eh?" was Canadian in origin - my mother says it all the time (I can't figure out if it's because we live a spit's fly from the border, or because her side of the family is French-Canadian). I always just assumed it was a midwestern thing. *g*
