Things I have learned recently:
* I still get red in the face when I talk about Donny Osmond.

* When you spend a week working out a story, building the conflicts, writing plot summaries and character summaries, making an outline, and breaking it down into a detailed scene list, you still have to write the goddamned story.

* There isn't enough bandwidth or time in all the world for everything I want to watch and read.

Things I'm still wondering about:
* Why I put Debaser on my TezuRyo playlist.

[ ETA: I just realised this post might imply that I'm working on a major TezuRyo story, but I'm actually not. Sorry. :( ]

Actually, you have the tense wrong, there. It should be Draw Barrymore. When you've accomplished it, then it's Drew Barrymore.

Can you tell I'm trying to avoid writing the damn story?

There's actually a productivity method that uses your tendency to procrastinate. You put something even more horrible on top of your list and then to avoid doing *that*, you work on other stuff on your list.

Or that's the theory. I think it fails to account for the lure of refreshing LJ 20 times a minute.

It´s shocking, isn´t? The first time you realize it. It´s like "oh, fuck!".

I always expect stories to write themselves over then night so i can wake up to find exactly what i had in mind. It took me many years to find out it doesn´t work that way.

I know what you mean! I always try to think them out when I'm falling asleep and then assume that in the morning, they will spring out fully-formed, like Athene from the head of Zeus.

Ah well, I'm sure this builds character.

Someone ought to invent a magical device that writes down the fic for you as you're thinking it. XD *cannot even count the number of fics that are planned but not written out*

Failing that, fics should just write themselves. ^__~

It's an interface problem, isn't it? Writing is usually hard, but this is a particularly difficult POV character for me as well, so it's going slowly.

Oh god, Paul Stanley. My sister and I were both horrified and curiously relieved when we compared notes and decided that he looked pretty damn hot the last time we saw him in concert. So wrong. And yet so right.

Hee! I never went that far. I just used to watch Donny and Marie and have vague yearnings that I didn't quite understand.

When X-Files was still on the air, Mitch Pileggi was going to be on the daytime talkshow that Donny and Marie had at the time. So I planned to tape it for a friend in the UK. I sat down to watch, fully expecting to spend the time drooling over Mitch.

As soon as I saw Donny, I was transfixed. "Donny! You're just as cute as you were 20 years ago!" For that hour, at least, it was Mitch who?
