Happy Birthday, Ryoma
Tiny slice of birthday cake for Ryoma. TezuRyo. Needs a title.

"I'm just older," Ryoma says. "It's no big deal."
"No," Tezuka says and Ryoma doesn't know if he is agreeing or disagreeing. There's a package in Tezuka's hands, but he doesn't hold it out to Ryoma.
"You don't need to make a fuss." The box is wrapped in gold paper. It looks heavy.
"You accepted those cookies at school today."
"I was hungry."
Tezuka's face doesn't change, but Ryoma can sense his smile. "I see," he says and bends down to Ryoma.
His mouth is warm and gentle and it makes Ryoma warm too, like he's waking from a nap in the mid-day sun. Their lips cling for a moment, then Tezuka moves away.
Ryoma lets go of Tezuka's sleeve and scowls up at him. "Can I have my present now?"

BTW, I mailed you Slam Dunk DVDs before Xmas, but who knows how long they'll take to arrive. The manga is on one of them and I recommend it above the anime, though the anime is great too. The manga goes on further.
I still have your WoW discs but I think I'm going to have to just give up and send them back -- I just don't have either the hard drive space or the time to play.

And, re: WoW...no worries. Send whenever you can, there's absolutely no rush to get them back. It's too bad you won't be playing, but it's probably a wise choice. I got my brothers hooked over Christmas and for three days now we've spent upwards of 7 hours a day playing. It's going to be tough when they go back to school and I go back to work....aie.

I hope you enjoy Slam Dunk as much as I did! It's my #1 sports series ever. Sakuragi, the main character, takes a bit of getting used to, but oh how much I came to love him! How much I came to love them all.

Here's the Tezuka version. *g*
"No," Tezuka says. Every day that pulls them closer together is only one step closer to the end. Tezuka fears the day when Ryoma is no longer looking up at him. But it will come.
"You don't need to make a fuss."
There is nothing that Tezuka won't do for Ryoma. Nothing. "You accepted those cookies at school today." Jealousy creeps through his limbs like a choking vine. He will never be good enough for Ryoma. Nothing he does will ever be worthy. The gift in his hands weighs him down with its inadequacy.
"I was hungry."
"I see," he says and it is hunger that draws him down, even as he tells himself to stop, to do what is right instead of what is easy.
Ryoma's mouth is sweet and fresh and his hand curls into Tezuka's sleeve. The burn of desire in Tezuka's gut only sickens him, only reminds him that he is poisoning Ryoma with his touch. He makes himself pull away and promises himself it will never happen again.
But it always does.
Ryoma lets go of Tezuka and scowls up at him. "Can I have my present now?"
And Tezuka can only hold it out and hope that he will be forgiven.

I think I've managed to figure out who on my f-list have watched Finding Nemo through the means of this 100x100 pixelized instrument of absolute glee.

TwelveThirteen-year-old logic. :) Glad it was melty.I had a Gil icon right after Nemo came out. It was embarassing how much I was attracted to a cartoon fish. But, since this is fandom, I soon found out I was not alone.
