Today I learned that if you upload a Yuletide story that is 990 words long, it is automatically rejected.

36 hours ago, I had 17 words written. The same 17 words I had written three weeks ago.

Amazing how the sheer terror of being *banned* from yuletide makes you write quickly.

Good lord, is that a motivator!

I did probably half of my story last night, after dragging my feet for weeks.

Just add "the" in front of everybody's name. Or possibly "the [adjective]."

I like that! The Great Inui. The Fabulous Momoshiro. The Amazing Kaidoh and his Performing Cats.

I think I'll just write all my stories like that from now on.

The Sweet Mitsui muttered something and the Attentive Kogure looked over. The Sleepy Mitsui was still sleeping, sliding down a little. His head was at an awkward angle and the Concerned Kogure rubbed his own neck. The Shintoist Mitsui drooped a bit lower. The Helpful Kogure put an arm around his shoulders, pulled him up so his head was against the Attractive Kogure's chest.

I think The Amazing Kaidoh and his Performing Cats could come into one of those Standard Pairings School Festival stories. Or maybe a Standard Pairings Fantasy AU story. I'll keep it in mind.

And the emoticons could totally work, so long as the script counts them as words. I'll have to experiment.

Might I suggest "wine-dark Aegean"?

Yeah, that could work. Something along the lines of:

The blond Slytherin clasped the green-eyed Seeker to his chest. "Oh, my kitten, your eyes are as glorious as the wine-dark Aegean!"

There's always "rosy-fingered dawn".

And the disturbing greeting card I came across that featured "Rosie fingered Dawn".

Add "in bed" after every other sentence. ^_~

Hee! I'm afraid of how that would turn out. :)

I discovered at the 11th hour (well, actually the 12th hour, or the 24th depending on how you count) that the Yuletide website and my little wordcount Javascript had quite noticeably different counts, which is rather horrifying when I basically aim FOR 1000 words and had already had to go back and add phrases just to hit it by my own reckoning. Fortunately I was able to add some more words and squeak in on time, but oh, boy, panic.
