Wine and the disappearing universe

LJ posts are dropping in and out of my friends list. I read to the end of the page, go to the next page, and the last entry I read is halfway down the page with previously unseen posts above it! And I've been having a lot of hidden comments lately, you know, the ones that you get the email for and you can see them on Recent Comments, but the don't show up on the post until you reply to them.

Sometimes it makes me feel like I'm in that one episode of TNG where people keep disappearing and the ship keeps disappearing and then it's just Crusher and Picard and she says, "Jean-Luc, I have to tell you something," like she always did when they got into life-or-death situations and we always thought she was going to tell him that Wesley was his son but then he disappears too and she's the only one left alive in the universe.

But I'm still getting spam, so I guess that didn't happen to me.

I wanted to do some writing tonight and I realised that I had to pick up a bottle of wine in order to be able to work on this particular story. I was standing in the liquor store, thinking, "Would this story go better with white or red?" Other stories call for scotch or beer or coffee or tea. Some are fine with water.

Maybe I should put a serving suggestion on the finished story: Best read with a dry white wine.

If I don't end up drinking so much that I can't finish it, of course.

LJ does sometimes do strange things. I too have the not there then there issue with friend's posts. Every once in a while I will specifically go directly to LJs of people I haven't seen in a while or who are extra special to me. There will be posts that didn't make it to my friends page.

I had a problem last night when I couldn't do enter and make the typing create a new paragraph. No matter how many times I hit enter no blank lines appeared.

T___T In France, Star Trek is NOT popular at all. There is a single channel that shows episodes in the middle of the night, and at the moment it's Enterprise ;_;
Usually I watch Star Trek re-runs in German but I don't know why, I like only TOC and DS9 in German...

Yeah, I'm having the LJ problem too. Yesterday I was trying to reply to a comment, and where there were 20 comments previously I now only saw one. And my friendlist is kind of on crack (though it's always duplicated certain people's posts).

Totally do serving suggestions. If you can stick a big BOY KISSING label on them, you can certainly tell people what kind of beverage to enjoy while reading. :)

This could enter a whole new realm of controlling-author syndrome! You must be drinking white wine and eating goat cheese on Ritz crackers while listening to the Pet Shop Boys, but not West End Girls, while reading this fic.

Wow. I couldn't write (or vid) on even a little wine. I'd wake up the next day with garbage in my timeline and a QWERTY imprint on my left cheek.

TNG was a simpler time, when I was only watching one show. *g*

I find a drink loosens me up a bit, when I'm trying to write a specific kind of story. And if I need to supplicate the muse (which I try to avoid, if possible), alcohol is demanded.
