Stargate: SG-1: Babylon

Finally watched this yesterday.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! #1: Tony Todd. Every show I watch, I hope that he'll show up for a guest shot. The great thing is that he so often does.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! #2: William B Davis. I teared up when I saw his name in the credits. All he had to do was walk by for me to get utterly creeped out by him.

Meh: The show. Maybe I'm just watching too much BSG and FMA and Ultraman Nexus and Rome, but Stargate just feels so two-dimensional. The plot is predictable to the point of tedium and the characters don't seem to have genuine emotional reactions. Like they are only allowed to feel one emotion at a time. The guy who trained Mitchell, who thought Mitchell had killed his brother -- it was like he couldn't be angry with Mitchell and help him at the same time. Because that would be too complicated.

And the dialogue! You can't expect the viewer to actually watch the show and know what's going on, you have to recap the plot every chance you get. So boring.

*sigh* I wish I liked it more. I feel kind of guilty that I don't.

I agree, but then I have *always* thought this about Stargate plots. The only reason why I kept watching it was because of the snark and Daniel and Jack.

Coming back to the ep... I have to admit I thought it was fun to see John Mitchell get beaten up. Yes, mine is a sick a twisted mind, apparently. Or maybe I just got used to seeing him bleed on Farscape.

Hee! Me too. I just think he looks better when he's a little messed up/dirty/bleeding. Because I'm a sick, twisted person.

I'm right there with you on the EEE! Tony Todd! I kept hoping he'd take Cam up on his suggestion to come out and get involved in Jaffa politics, just so I could see him face off with Gerak. Maybe he will later.

I am also with you on the meh. I like the characters, but the writing and plots keep it in the tier of universes I think are fun, but don't take too seriously.
