Sci-Fi Tuesday

OK, I watched these on Saturday. I'm lazy. And I just noticed that all of my SG-1 icons are for characters that aren't on the show anymore. That's just sad.

Atlantis: The Intruder. Bored the hell out of me, even with both Rodney and Caldwell. Hopefully next week Caldwell will take his shirt off. Or there will be a plot. Either would be fine. And I'm trying to find some good caps of Caldwell to make an icon. Anything I try to grab from the video files seems pretty poor and I didn't manage to find any promo shots of him. (Possibly because I don't know where to look.) Any thoughts?

Battlestar Galactica. Right now, this show is so good I can't even talk about it.

SG-1: Avalon II. Not bad. But Ben Browder, Claudia Black, and Lexa Doig all in one episode made it hard for me to really, you know, sink into the characters. It's like reading slash where Everyone Is Gay.

The story seems fun. That's about all I can say so far. Stargate has never been about the story for me. It's about the team and it seems like it's going to be a while until we actually get a coherent team.

I'm pleased I get to say "Mitchell!" all the time now. And I loved the Star Wars reference.

Jeez, was that even worth cutting? I guess I just want to say: I'm still watching these shows.

I have to agree about The Intruder.

Bring on Dex, I say (and replaced Bates with Stackhouse, if he's going to die or be incapacitated for a while. Totally makes sense - even show-wise. He's the next best-known character and also clearly a senior Sergeant...).

SG-1 season nine has been hilarious so far. I enjoyed seeing Vala burn. /evil.

I just have a crush on Boyan Vukelic (Stackhouse) and want to see him more in the next series! He had a bigger role than I first realised in season one...

(He was the dude who took charge of the escape from the ruins after John was whumped in Suspicion and the guy who was with Ford when he was zapped by the Entity in Hide and Seek - not very tall, very sweet face, but greying at the temples somewhat prematurely...? <3s)

Agreed about Atlantis. Too bad, after those first two minutes of 2.01 that flooded me with so much endorphins that I am not ever sure what happened in the rest of the ep. :))

BSG - it's unbelievably brilliant. Seriously, that show is so good I don't know why the whole world isn't talking about it. It gives me the shivers every time I think about it.

Avalon II: Claudia is marvelous, and I am adapting to Ben-in-SG1 much better than I thought. Maybe because the Crichton crazy!gleam-in-the-eye is missing, I don't know. I am very happy about it, though. Claudia in that pile of Gold is just the best thing ever. ^_____^ As for the plot - like you said, who cares about the plot in SG1, imnsho it was always bordering on bad anyway. Let's see where they are taking us, for the moment, I am enjoying it lots.

Ah. Battlestar Galactica is so good I have to talk about it. I watched every single episode yesterday, OMG. This is the one fandom on the planet (or off, as it were) where I'm cheering for the het ships because the women are actual people. Real ones! It's crazy! They have thoughts and feelings and consistent behavioral patterns! Ah!

And yeah, The Intruder was boring. But I have so many issues about Atlantis, because I know the guy who wrote it, and I'm definitely not in a place where I can say, "yeah, that sucked". So. No opinions from me, because pissing off the parents of my friends = bad idea.

*must see Avalon II*

You make me giggle, because I love BSG so much that I *have* to talk about it. At length, with references to Greek mythology and political theory and intense delving into the psyches of the characters. SO GOOD.

As for Caldwell, have you checked Gateworld? They usually have pictures of pretty good quality. Here's the link to their Siege III review, which has pics on the left: http://www.gateworld.net/atlantis/s2/201.shtml

I think the polite thing to do after randomly lj-friending someone is to comment, equally randomly, with a small introductory comment. Hello! ^^

Thanks to the InuKai comm, your InuKai writing is something I've a fan of for a very long while now. Someone recommended your fic archive to me tonight, and I realized you'd written several other fics I've admired too... I'm sure you get this a lot, but you're very talented, and I do appreciate your stuff. Your style's fluid, engaging, and strong. Not something you see a lot of in fandom.

And you're watching TideLine Blue..? Fantastic! It's not much, but I'm working as Arienai's main translator for the show right now. ^^> Hopefully it'll be a good run.

It's nice to make your acquaintance! You have a fan here.
