O Buchou! My Buchou!
The Boy was helping me brainstorm a tenipuri fic today. About Kaidoh, of course.
Boy: Will this be something I can read?
Hal: There might be some mild slash content but not too much.
Boy: You mean afterwards, Kaidoh comes back and he and Inui have sex?
Hal: a;lkajs;dlkfja;lskdjf;lakj;l
Hal: I said mild slash content! Slash does not equal porn!
Boy: Well, it's clear that they have a thing.
Hal: No sex! Jeez!
We had a much less racy convo the other day about Who will be buchou in the fall? (Manga continuity.)
It seems clear to both of us that Momo and Kaidoh will be buchou and fuko-buchou (sure, Ryoma can out-play either of them, but he's still a first-year and, really, so not buchou-material). But who will be which? How will they decide?
My favourite scenario is the one where Ryuzaki-sensei tells them they have to decide between themselves and so they get to go have a super-secret super-intense match and Kaidoh just barely wins and theymake out bond and afterwards they still snipe at each other a lot but are lovers bestest friends bestest friends with benefits.
But what if she just picked one of them? Or made Tezuka decide? Whom would he pick? Or what if Momo and Kaidoh managed to make Ryuzaki-sensei so mad that she picked Arai instead?
Who do you think should be buchou in the fall? Who do you think will be?
I know I'm biased, but I think Kaidoh would be a better choice. I think Momo is too easy-going. But he should definitely be fuko-buchou. They'refucking hot complementary that way.

*secretly votes for him*On the other hand, between Momo and Kaidoh, it's rather difficult for me to decide... *votes for your scenario*

...it occurs to me that this is fate, luv. XD

How can anyone forget about Araaaai!? *loves on the dork* You should draw him imitating Tezuka and... stick Tezuka + Tachibana in there somehow. *nods*
*wants an Arai icon now*
no subject
And you know what? I think I've been inspired to draw Tezuka x Arai now. XDDDD
no subject
More Arai love!! Yay! Perhaps I'll be swayed to pick up on that pairing too. *makes room in her heart* Zomg, the crack is going to kill me. XDDDDDDDD

He's quite pissy now, but I actually think he'd fall along Tezuka's leader stereotype. Momoshiro would probably fall under Yamato's stereotype, though I feel that (as of now), he still lacks the necessary experience to back that style up.
...and there's always Arai, of course. XDDDD (*recalls his rather moving approximation of "Yudan sesouni ikou!"* XDDDD)

Woo hoo! Another Arai supporter!
The Boy has a preferred scenario where Kirihara transfers to Seigaku and is buchou. I don't know why he thinks this would be a good idea, but there you go.
no subject
But no, that's not what I was refering to, lol. XDDDD Actually, I was thinking more about the fact that Tezuka is so straightforward in his leadership, while Yamato goes about things in a more roundabout way. Tezuka commands by example, but Yamato makes you realize that there is no other logical choice.
As Ryoma once said: "He is a man of stature." ^_^ I can actually see Momo being this type of leader when he matures more, but as of now he's still a bit too kiddy to use such evasive measures.

*giggles* That's crack!love. I can see him fighting with Ryoma constantly. XD

If Arai becomes buchou, he will go down in Seigaku history as The Buchou Who Was Pwned. XD
Re: Ryouma - completely agree with you on his lack of buchou qualities. For starters, the boy would have to make turning up to practice on time a regular habit.

Hah! =D

Re Arai: *g*

Mmm. Except Kaidoh and Momo wouldn't be nearly as easygoing/platonic/capable of getting along for more than five minutes.
Now I'm imagining that every time they have a disagreement, they take it to the equipment shed. And proceed to make out like whoa.

I could also see Ryoma becoming captain just because it was easier than making Momo and Kaidoh not fight over it (because they might at least recognize his skills and confine themselves to grumbling about his age). He wouldn't be a particularly involved or caring buchou but, really, Tezuka was away half the series and left a lot of the training/paper work stuff to other people so it wouldn't be that difficult to organize.

BadCop!Kaidoh: Everyone do 5 sets of stroke practice!
Everyone: *grumbling*
GoodCop!Momo: It's OK, I worked it out, you only have to do 4 sets.
Everyone: *cheers and completely forgets that the usual used to be 3 sets*

I think that although Kaidoh probably has the maturity to become buchou, Momo has that plus something very vital--the tennis club members like him better. Everyone loves Momo, and they're sort of scared to death of Kaidoh. Kaidoh is also the type of person who never steps in unless he's needed, whereas Momo is a much more motivational person, with the charisma to motivate through his enthusiasm and personal example; whereas, you know, Kaidoh hissing and scowling at them is probably a good motivator too, but one has to ask if it's the best one :D. Hahaha, Scowling!Kaidoh = Seigaku's next form of Inui Juice.
(Why don't I have any POT icons yet? *headdesk*)

Re manga, I can zip what I have in batches and upload it to YSI for you, if you like. LMK. There are gaps and scanlation is still going on, but there's quite a lot. And they're going great guns on the new raws, so those are getting closer to being caught up.

Thank you for the offer, Hal! I actually was able to get them from Orphne (who I think got them from you initially, so in a way I did get them from you, haha.) --she has everything that's out and scanned so far.
She mentioned there were tentative plans to do a second anime series??? How likely is it, do you think? *hopes hopes hopes!*

Of course, at home we have long discussions about Prince of Tennis: Year Two, which focuses on Fudomine instead of Seigaku and which the Boy calls "Tachibana An's Boy Toys".

Hmm... I'd think that Kaidoh would be able to intimdate *anyone* into obeying him (like Tezuka) while Momo will be the "Geez Viper, you're making that kid over there shit in his pants", laid-back and approachable one. So, I'm putting my money on Kaidoh as the Scary and Demands Respect But Secretly Adores Fluffy Animals buchou, and Momo as the "Whee! LUCKY! Where's the food?" fukubuchou.
And Arai can wave a little flag and has his own set of first year followers.
Personally, I'm getting amused just thinking of the situation... they might have a "No arguments during Club practice" thing and then afterwards or before school, they'll argue and fight
and make out and traumatize the other students. Or, maybe not and they'll argue like crazy.no subject
But what I want to see is the two of them fighting together against a common enemy. Brawl!

...I didn't get enough sleep last night XD

Horio-buchou! That would be a dream come true.

My boyfriend is still unconvinced. ^^;

I just have a hard time seeing Momo doing any actual work if he were the fukubuchou, whereas as buchou, he'd have the responsibility, and might really believe that he does have to do it. Kaidoh, on the other hand, would take either position seriously. (Then again, in this series, people mature some three or four years every summer--and ten in the case of Tezuka--so maybe he'll have come to a different understanding.)
