Doctor Who
So enjoying this. I've only seen the first four eps since I'm trying to be good and watch it on TV instead of downloading it and CBC is about a week and a half behind the BBC on it. It's so out there without being too campy, it's frantic and fun and the colours, my god, the colours. I love the production design.

Yakitate!! Japan
You like crack? We've got crack. Azuma Kazuma is a country boy determined to make a bread that the Japanese will like better than rice. He and Kawachi Kyouske, another country boy, get hired onto a bakery in Tokyo. They engage in a series of battles (bread-baking battles!) with various interesting artisans. Who will be victorious? I love this show so much. It never fails to cheer me, no matter what my mood is. It's the show I look forward to the most right now.

Dear Boys
A lovely 26-episode sports anime about high school boys basketball. It's more or less your typical underdog makes good story. The boys are really sweet and the story is engaging. And, best of all, there's a girls team that kicks major ass. We even get to see them play. (Of course, the downside to that is the two boys I most want to slash have canon female love interests. Can't have everything, I guess.) You can get it on Box Torrents. Thanks to neeteeus for bringing it to my attention.

Yes it is. :) And CBC is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. They were a production partner with the BBC on Doctor Who.

I used to watch Dr Who back when it was cheesy cool, and oh man, I loved it! It was on late night PBS then (because cable wasn't into shipping what the viewers wanted then), so hopefully sci-fi or some other channel on the wide and vast array of channels I have should carry it... right? *is hopeful*

Oh, maybe you can tell my why the Doctor never goes back in time after a mission is botched or lives ar lost and does it again? He is the Time Lord, I don't get it.

I love Dear Boys. It was the first sports anime I ever watched and liked. ^_^ Aikawa is just so damn cute! And since when have female love interests ever prevented a good slash story? ^_~

Aikawa is indeed cute as the proverbial bug. :) (And I just about choked and died when I found out that Kiyasu Kohei was his seiyuu. I never would have guessed.) Fujiwara is just so lovely and wounded. And everyone else charmed me too.

And since when have female love interests ever prevented a good slash story?

I was doing okay until the Love Triangle in episode 20. My god, that was so slashy I almost couldn't stand it. So, there may be fic yet.

Yakitate Japan is going to come out in translation as a manga here and I cannot make up my mind ... everyone seems to love it, but 28 volumes of baking ... erm.

The manga is *better* than the anime. Well, from what I've seen of the anime, which isn't that much.
