It is, it is a glorious thing to be a Pirate King!

I watched the third installment of the Animatrix: Detective Story. I really enjoyed this one a lot. It has a very noir, almost sepia-toned look and the story has a Matrix-meets-Marlow feel. Old and future tech are combined quite stylishly. And there's a cat named Dinah. I didn't watch the Japanese version this time -- it wouldn't have added anything for me, unlike the second installment.

I also watched a new trailer for Pirates of the Caribbean. Buckle my swash, but it's looking fun. And let's all have a moment of silence to think on Johnny Depp.

Mmmmmm, Johnny Depp.

If you do the Orlando Bloom thing, he was looking okay too. I like the moustache. There was sword fighting and costumes and people being rude to other people and skeletons and Johnny Depp.

Of course, the pirate movie I'm really waiting for is Peter Pan.

See, I got myself a hook fetish after seeing Alan Rickman playing an actor playing Hook in An Awfully Big Adventure. And then I went back to see Chamber of Secrets about three times more than I would have otherwise, just to gaze longingly at Lucius Malfoy.

And Jason Isaacs is playing Hook in Peter Pan.

Let's have more silence.

The movie isn't out in NA until Dec 25, so for once I'll actually be counting the days until Christmas.

Arrrr!

Let me understand this. Your post, which I read before imbibing coffee, contains the words "Orlando Bloom", "Johnny Depp", "Alan Rickman", and "Jason Isaacs". And the subject line is there only to bring up one more -

"Kevin Kline."

Fine. Kill me.

Oh, no, I expect that from all of my friends' posts. Just... it was such a lot of them...

I hadn't heard of the new Peter Pan movie. Mmmm. This could be so good *spike imagines a very dark and slightly creepy Peter Pan movie*
