Escapade

Yes, I will be at Escapade this year. Will you?

You will know me by my glasses and my #2 clipper cut and my lip ring and the Fullmetal Alchemist keychain on my backpack. I'll do my best to look approachable. :)

If you meet me, call me Hal. I do have a Real Name, but I find Hal works best at these fannish things. No one should attempt to say "Halrloprillalar". I never do.

I've never actually been to a media con like this before. I've been to lots of gaming cons and to one sci-fi con, but that was also for gaming. (There were people walking around in Klingon outfits and/or vampire fangs and *we* were considered the weirdos because we played D&D.) So I'm interested to see how this is. What's fun that I should make sure I don't miss?

And it's OK to rub my head.

Hee! Don't worry about missing the fun - the con schedule will tell you much of what you need to know, and the rest of the time we make our own fun. ;) I'll be on the lookout for you!

You will know me by my badge that says 'Destina'. *g* I have often been told I'm not at all what people expect. Whatever that means.

What's fun that I should make sure I don't miss?

Hit the show Saturday night, definitely. On Friday evening there's usually an evening party in one of the con spaces, which is usually too crowded and noisy and overwhelming for me, but it can be very fun for sociable-type people. (I'll probably turn in after the SG dinner Fri.) The meta panels are usually good, tho it depends on who is leading them; if elynross, shalott, LaT or tzikeh leads a meta-topical panel, I try to attend.

Huzzah! I am leading such a panel - "The Tipping Point in Fandom". Hope to see you there. :)

I just put up a new and annoying post re the SG dinner, so that should be mostly settled. Also, everyone does the chest-staring thing. It's expected. *g*

And it's OK to rub my head.

Now I *really* wish I was going.
codyne: Kaiba salute (Yu-Gi-Oh!) (kaiba)

I'll be there! I'll be the one with about an inch of curly gray fuzz on my head, and I'll probably be wearing a Yu-gi-Oh! tee-shirt.

I'll be pimping Yu-Gi-Oh! at the pimp thing, and other than that, who knows?

Look forward to seeing you!

This will be the first Escapade I'm missing after going for the past three years, and I'm sorry to miss a chance to see you again, but I hope you have a fabulous time!

Yes, I will! I have very long brown hair. I often wear a leather jacket. I smoke, so I often can be found standing outside near the convention rooms. In the mornings, I can be found where there is coffee. And unless it's scheduled against something I must attend like whoa, I'll be at the anime panel.

And it occurs to me that I really need to fill out the paperwork for my Escapade vacation days tomorrow. Oops.

And I'll generally be hanging around her.

Oh, you have one of those haircuts, do you? So rubbable!

I hate this time of year. Everyone posts con reports from expensively faraway places.
