Video

Last night we watched The Importance of Being Earnest. What a lovely, lovely morsel of brilliant dialogue and pretty boys. Rupert Everett and Colin Firth are both so very charming. Judi Dench is -- of course -- marvellous. And I was rather taken with Frances O'Connor as Gwendolyn. It left me smiling.

And then I watched Miracles.

I'd taped this on Monday and finally had time to sit down and see it. What a fucking amazing show. You were right, all you Miracles pushers -- one episode and I'm hooked.

The intensity, the paranormal-religious experiences, the blood, the rain. Oh, how I've missed this. The extreme slashiness was just a bonus.

So, of course, this will be cancelled. *sigh*

Whee! Go Miracles. If we all band together and cross our fingers, maybe it WON'T be canceled?

This week's was exceptional, and hinged with such elegant simplicity on the radical differences caused by a slight shift in perspective. Beautiful. I'd initially been dubious about this show, figuring it for merely another "Poltergeist: the Legacy", but it's been impressive. And it does help that Ulrich no longer looks quite so jarringly like Johnny Depp... Add another set of crossed fingers to the hope that it doesn't get summarily cancelled!

Now, you've really got to check out "John Doe"...*g*
