Fall lineup.

So, Lost. I haven't watched it. I have the pilot taped, but didn't give it a go and it comes on a very inconvenient time for me to tape and we don't have Tivo or running water up here in Canada, so I just thought I'd give it a miss.

But people keep going on about how good it is and I'm wondering if I should re-think. Here's my question:

What percentage of screen time does Terry O'Quinn get? Cause that's my main motivation to watch.

The only TV show I'm actively following right now is Boston Legal. Shatner and Spader -- what could be sweeter? ETA: to say that it would be sweeter if Atlantis weren't on hiatus because I'm getting cranky without my weekly "alone time" with Rodney.

In anime watching news, besides Kyou Kara Maou (kisses to [livejournal.com profile] laylah_r), I also started in with Bleach and Beck, both new this month, both based on manga that I haven't read.

I've seen two eps of Bleach and it's rocking good fun. How much do I love Ichigo's orange hair? Ichigo is having trouble adjusting to his life as a new high-school student and shinigami, poor thing. Give the boy some support. AFAIK, this doesn't have a limited run, so it could be a long haul.

There's only been one ep of Beck so far. It's about a middle-school kid whose name I forget and a rock band and a dog that's made up of bits of other dogs. Or something. It looks weird and very fun. 26 eps in all, I believe.

And now that the FMA anime is done, I'm back reading the manga again. Hughes is my anime boyfriend, but my manga boyfriend is definitely Barry. Is there something wrong with me that I find him cute?

i thought "lost" was the worst thing i ever watched voluntarily and cannot understand the sudden hype on my flist. maybe it gets better, but 1+2 (the pilot) are unbelievable crap. sorry i cannot tell you about terry's screen-time ...

But you know, if you wrote Rodney fic (and shared it with us) it would be like having your own personal Quality Rodney Time. Especially if it was smutty. Slashy smutty. Oh, and snarky too.

Just a thought. *g*

Terry O'Quinn isn't getting a huge amount of screen time so far. It's a big cast. However, he grabs my attention whenever he's on, and it's clear that there's something going on with his character. Which is about as specific as I can get.

If you're watching for Terry O'Quinn, you'll love the fourth episode.

But seriously, don't watch 1x04 until you've watched the earlier eps. It won't have as much of an impact without context.

Watch so you can write Locke (TO's character) fic. :)

Last night's episode was predominantly about Terry O'Quinn's character. But there is a very large cast (13 principles so far), an it seems to be currently set up that each episode is going to focus on another character's back story. His character is rather intriguing, though.

...It is a little cracktastic that you would pick anime!Hughes and manga!Barry, but I can totally see it.

Both of them, actually, so I'm probably on crack too. Your boyfriend!Hughes icon just makes me swoon.

So glad you're digging the KKM.
Konrad is my sekrit anime boyfriend.

Eeee! Thank you!

Konrad is *so* the best boyfriend ever.

I *love* Konrad/Yuuri.
....and I have a weird soft spot for Konrad/Gwendal, based entirely on episode 15.

I'll be back at work tomorrow, and I'll send you more eps then -- and if you just happened to write any Konrad/Yuuri, well, I'd squee pathetically be happy to read it ^_^

You watched the X-Files, right? This show feels similar.

The 4th episode seems to be where the story is hitting its stride and, yes, Terry's character is heavily featured. I haven't been this surprised by a television show in a long time. I think you should definitely give it a look.

The episodes are downloadable somewhere online. I know because the SO found them when we missed episode 3. I hope you enjoy it if you revisit!

I just download them here (http://tvtorrents.net) - just do a search for "Lost" if you don't see the earliest episodes.

CTV is carrying it now, apparently, although I watch it on ABC at 9pm (mountain time).

And yeah, it's kinda X-Files-like, tone wise. I find it enjoyable, and slightly addictive, if only for answers to the many questions that have been already posed.

Hey! It's that guy!

I was super-pissed when Fametracker posted an article about Terry O'Quinn and totally and utterly failed to mention the Stepfather films. That's, like, criminal.

Seriously.

Bleach and Beck both have much, much better manga. Beck especiallly - the episode made me want to sit down and bawl in horror. Ryusuuke's english killed me (in the bad way) and it was such a disappointment because the intro rocked and the manga is possibly one of the best I've ever read. And the Bleach anime is cute and all but it's just sort of... eh in comparison to the manga. Granted that's because where I am now is getting really good so it's a bit difficult to go all the way back to the beginning when it was still trying to pick up pace. Again the intro rocks but the rest just can't really hold up to the manga. Yet. I have faith it will get better.

boston legal

I've been obssessing all week over BL. I think it's been at least a decade since I went gaagaa over a non-genre TV show--but the characterizations of Denny Crane and Alan Shore are simply over the top perfection. I missed the first one, caught the second by accident, but I'll be firmly plunked in front of the TV to get the rest. Spader is bloody briliant.

I'm greatly enjoying Lost - I agree about the X-Files vibe, if it had been filmed on a tropical island with lots of sunshine instead of misty, foggy Vancouver (I don't count anything after they started filming in LA).

I miss Atlantis too. Rodney! Are you surviving your time as a hostage okay? Are they feeding you?
