Stargate: Atlantis

Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. This may or may not be a bad thing.

* Robert Patrick! Oh, honey, as soon as I saw your name in the credits, I knew you would show up, romance me, and die. But it was worth it.

* McKay! Canadian! Socute. He's just annoying enough now, at least so far. Here's hoping he finds true love. Maybe with the doctor.

* So, Jack had to send his boytoy off to another galaxy so Daniel wouldn't find out, eh?

* wtf Narim?

* I'm a bit "meh" on the characters so far, except for McKay. But I'm hoping they'll grow on me. Weir is cooler when she's sleeping sniping with Daniel.

* Vampire Elves from Outer Space! Er, yeah.

* I really hope that this show has something different to offer from SG1. Because if it's just the same "exploring new worlds, seeking out new civilizations" every week, I will kick and scream that they gave us this over Lucky Thirteen.

* Sheppard shooting Sumner was pretty cool. Gives me hope for Sheppard.

* All in all, I thought it was good for a pilot. Set up things with a relative minimum of exposition and gratuitous death. So, we'll see.

I think I've reached my quota for downloading shows. I've got SG-1, Atlantis, Fullmetal Alchemist, Prince of Tennis, and Naruto (which I'm still trying to catch up on) on a regular basis (and of course any more Parker Lewis eps that drop). Anything else I watch has got to be on DVD or even, shockingly, broadcast on TV.

Sumner was so Marked for Death. I did like that Shepard had to shoot him, though.

Your interpretation of the Jack/Shepard dynamic makes me giggle.

McKay and the doctor (Beckett! I want his first name to be Sam) are soinlove.

Jack! Boytoy! Muahahahahah! I think you've got the right of it.

I absolutely support the hobbit geek McKay/Beckett love. Have you *seen* Cypher? David Hewlett is SO much with playing the boylove!

Here's my question -- how did Sheppard know that the age-sucking thing was irreversible? Why didn't he at least try shooting the wraith somewhere vital first?

Oh, right. Because it's in the script. Mmyeah. Okay.

He did. Three shots, right through the chest. She just sucked more energy from Sumner and healed it.

Oh. Right. D'oh. Thank you!

I was kind meh on the entire thing, but I'll give it a chance. I hope John Sheppard doesn't turn out to perfect, becuase right he's amusing me, but the whole special gene thing could get old real fast.

My favorite moment was Daniel trying at the last minute to get Jack to let him go through the gate.

I hadn't seen the Stargate:SG-1 season premiere either. The Daniel Jackson/Jack O'Niell interfacing. Heh. Even my _mother_ got that one.

Yeah, Jake not letting Jackson go either was my favorit part too. Since you get the feeling, Dr. Jackson and Dr. Weir has been asking permission for a while. I thought that was so cute, and Jake was so quick about it too.

I was all kinds of excited to see Robert Patrick's name at the beginning, since I didn't know he was going to be in this. He really needs to get a role where he's allowed to live for a while -- not that he didn't have a pretty cool death here, at least!
