OK, now that was an episode.

* Yay Connor! I love well-adjusted Connor. Well done, Vince.

* I confess, I was hoping Connor would be with us now until the end. And that Angel would end up killing him after all.

* "Do you spend all your time making out with other vampires?" "No...well, I used to."

* Yay memory return! Finally.

* How is the memory thing going to work with Connor's "parents"? Won't they remember that he's not really their son? Maybe the true memories are strongest only in those who know that they've been changed.

* God, I hate Ilyria. Doesn't she have anything better to do? Why is she letting them test her powers?

* It's hard for me to predict what Wes is going to do. Frankly, I'd like him to kill Angel and take over and then for the last few episodes, the credits would read Wesley, Rogue Demon Hunter. But I'll be happy if he somehow makes it over to the side of good.

* Why does anybody have guards on this show? Why does anybody take a job as a guard? Redshirts on Star Trek have a longer lifespan.

* Tonight I *really* missed Lilah.

And on a completely unrelated note, we watched an MST3K tonight with this really terrible old black and white Japanese sci-fi film. They used a lot of stock footage. In one clip of buildings blowing up there was a statue of Hitler falling over. For no apparent reason whatsoever. Also, there were SIX little kids, most of them in those disturbing little shorts. And one was named Ken!

Is that one "Prince of Space"? I think that's the one where they point out that in the terrible stock footage of soldiers riding on trucks, you can actually see the mold overlap on the obviously plastic soldier models. *g*

I only *wish* it had been Prince of Space. (We saw that last week and it was vastly superior.) This one was called something like "Invasion of the Neptune Men" and featured the same kind of creepy-single-scientist-turned-lame-action-hero, only this one was way lamer and was only "Space Chief".

Actually, he looked very much like an old boyfriend of mine, if my old boyfriend had been Asian.

Ah, I didn't realise that. So so memories back for Gunn or Lorne then. Hmm, freaky.

Poor Wes, always alienated. But that's why I love him. He has the best character arc of anyone in the Buffyverse.

The warlock demon guy said it. Something along the lines of "anyone who's exposed" or something. Can't recall the exact quote. But yea, it's only those in the room, which is why the fakeout with Connor- did he know? did he remember? or not? was possible. Because the demon made that "wall" between him and the rest of them before the box was broken.

Sorry, just couldn't resist. I don't even know if that line was from "Prince of Space" or "Neptune Men". I found both of those to be pretty damn funny. But strange. Very strange.

God, the shorts! I remember in one of the Gamera movies there was a shot where the camera slowly panned up a set of bare legs and Mike (or was it Joel?) and the bots were all, "Saaaaaaaaaaaay" until it was revealed that the camera was so tenderly caressing a be-shorted little boy. At which point they choked and freaked and generally expressed their shock and disapproval.

I think I remember the six little kids, though. It's all a blur of bad dubbing and Mike's pain.

I think Prince of Space only had three or four little kids. And one of them might actually have been a girl! Space Chief had a greater following of little kids, but he and the kids were much lamer than Prince of Space and his kid entourage.

The funniest part of the Space Chief ep was during a host segment when Krankor from Prince of Space showed up to conquer the satellite. They were so happy to see him Mike almost wept on Krankor's neck!
