FMA or "what I've been doing while procrastinating on the Harry/Neville".
So, I was keeping in the back of my mind that I'd give Full Metal Alchemist a try later on, perhaps in the summer when I had more time for something new. But it occurred to me that if I didn't grab it now, it might be harder to download them. So I fired up BitTorrent (*smooch*) and started grabbing eps.
Of course, then I figured that I should give it a try before I downloaded all of the available eps. So I watched the first one and I was hooked! Later on that night, I was browsing someone else's friendslist and I saw an Ed icon. My heart went *thump* and I thought: my show!
If you've not seen it, it's an anime show -- I'm downloading fansubs -- about two brothers, Edward and Alphonse Elric. They're alchemists. Alchemy works like magic, but is somewhat scientific as well. Due to a terrible mistake they made when younger, Alphonse's soul now inhabits a huge set of metal armour and Edward has a metal arm and leg. They're mostly travelling around searching for a way to restore their bodies back to normal, but there are other things going on as well.
(BTW -- I've only watched up to episode 12, so please don't spoil me in comments. I hope to be caught up by the end of next weekend.)
I love the characters -- Ed is so headstrong and hotheaded. And Al so mild and greathearted. I just want to hug and hug Al, metal body and all. Roy is still very enigmatic to me, so of course I'm dying to learn more. Hughes is my boyfriend. And Winry (Winly? I saw both in the subs) is so very, very charming.
I'm quite enjoying the animation too. It's a little quirky, with vivid colours.
This series is fun, but surprisingly dark as well, which I appreciate. There's a lot going on under the surface. Ah, I'm falling hard for this one.
Any lists/comms/archives you want to pimp me? Oh, and is there any decent Ed/Russell out there?

And I'm glad you liked Closeted! Harry and Draco are so fun to mess with.
