Drabbles!
I finally made it to LJ Drabble Night. Late, though, cause I'm in the Pacific time zone and I'm still at work when it all begins. So, only two drabbles today. Theme was novel titles.
Snape/Voldemort, The Left Hand of Darkness
The first time, Severus didn't know that it was going to happen. His skin was burnt where Voldemort touched him and afterwards, he was sick in the garden.
The second time, he thought he was ready. Pain leapt up through his fingers, shot down his spine. He convulsed and Voldemort laughed.
The third time, it took Imperio to get him in the room. He thought his flesh would be consumed in fire.
Before the fourth time came, he stood inside a blood-drawn circle, held his wand high, and froze himself forever, nerve by nerve.
Now his mouth works and his hand touches but he feels nothing, nothing at all.
Lockhart/anyone, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
The elf from Lockhart serenaded Snape in his classroom, in front of his NEWT students. None of them dared laugh, but they had to write a six foot essay on the uses of pickled sheep's eyes all the same.
The card arrived at noon, on his plate, squeaking a badly rhymed love poem until Snape crushed it in one hand. Lockhart gave him a broad wink over the mashed potatoes. Dumbledore chuckled and Snape stalked out of the hall.
The cuckoo clock appeared in his rooms and squawked the hour, every hour, and whistled folk songs in between. Snape threw it out the window.
Then he looked over a row of gleaming glass vials, picked one up, and smiled.
Snape sent Lockhart a box of chocolates, tied with a bow.
Lockhart missed classes all the next week.
On Easter, he sent Snape a chocolate egg.

tied with a bow.
This was just the icing on the cake for me.
He convulsed and Voldemort laughed.
Ditto for this.

The second one does wonders to east the pain, though. I <3 Snape/Lockhart. So much flamboyant antagonism.
