Crossover Remus

OK, I know my LJ has been quite Remus-heavy lately but I think we'll be back to normal levels by next week. But since we're still in this week, you should jump over and join [livejournal.com profile] phineasjones's discussion:

With what character from a non-HP fandom would you slash Remus?

I have to say, if any one writes the Remus/Viggo, I may have to read it despite my usual non-RPF stance.

I encourage your DIY attitude, man. Get out there and write us some Remus/Bran! I think Remus would be a little younger than Bran at the time set around POA, what do you think?

And Kest made me want to read DIR slash. Check her out at [livejournal.com profile] kestrelsan. She's superb.

yes, i think a little younger... i haven't calculated, but it seems like the would be fairly close in age.

and i've totally read all of kest's dir. and, i think, all the other dir slash that's out there. which one can read in about one day, sadly. i even wrote a tiny bit of will/bran myself.

maybe when return of the king gives me back my brain, i can think about the remus/bran story again. ;)

Well. I wrote some DIR slash. Yesterday. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kormantic/58906.html#cutid1)

Other than that, I too have been doing some thinking about Remus, Bran and Will.

Hmmm.

omigoodness, that is lovely. how perfectly sweet. i love that you got to their connections - the hugeness of what they're involved in - without the clunky dialogue that sometimes seems inevitable. yes, it's beautiful.

the tiny bit of will/bran i wrote is here (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=phineasjones&keyword=will/bran&filter=all).

RPF

True story:

I recently recommended your "Blue Christmas" to someone (an incredibly gifted M/K writer), who replied "Blue Christmas was outstanding - I am so glad I always read your posts and find out cool things."

To which I replied "It's one of those stories that make me say 'Ohmigawd, I actually enjoyed a quasi-Real Person Slash Fic and didn't even realize it.'"

Reply: "I am laughing! Of course it is quasi-RPS. That didn't even cross my mind as I suppose I do not really think of Elvis as real. I thought it was a wonderful man-bites-dog story that went a long happy way to the 'wink' come joke."

All this occurs a month after an involved forum discussion on the definition of RPF, and the boundaries between what is "acceptable" and what isn't. My friend was in the "any RPF, regardless of NC-17 or G-rated content, is invasive" faction.

Therefore, you must take credit for writing something that makes readers challenge their criteria of "absolutes". That's why I love ya, Hal.
