I love it when a plan comes together.

Wrote a drabble for the [livejournal.com profile] hp100 Wand challenge: Determination.

~

Yesterday I was home from work early, so the boy and I got to watch The A-Team. I never really got to see it back in the 80s, due to our TV-less state, but the boy loved the show then and he loves it now. I've grown quite fond of it.

The best part is, of course, the back and forth between Murdock and B.A. Even the boy admits that they're in love. But I've not been able to find any good slash for them. It's all Face/Murdock. Bah.

I think the best A-Team ep I ever saw was the one with Boy George. Yes, Boy George. I can hardly remember the plot, but Boy George sang and of course Murdock was in drag.

Yesterday's ep wasn't so great, but it did have a lovely moment when Hannibal, Face, and B.A. are breaking into an art gallery. They're dressed in black, with stockings or balaclavas over their faces. And B.A. is still wearing 20 pounds of perfectly visible gold chains.

We've been discussing how we'd re-cast the show if it was on now. I figure that Dirk Benedict is now of an age where he could play Hannibal, which would be cool. And I bet Paul Gross would make a good Face, though he's maybe a little old for that role.

I'm having trouble with Murdock and B.A., though. Any ideas?

EEEeeeeEE! I used to LOVE the A-Team!

B.A. and Howling Mad Murdock were my favorites, of course. I remember feeling the occasional twinge of downright loathing for 'Face.'

Yes. B.A. and Murdock were in love. It seems so obvious now. *grin*

*wonders if she still has her A-Team Comics anywhere*

My favorite bit was the running gag of B.A. hating to fly. *sighs with contented nostalgia*

What channel is running this in syndication?

I know this is sacriligeous (sp?), but either Murdock or B.A. should be a woman. In fact, I'll go so far as to say B.A. should be a kick ass woman like Hudson Leick. Only without the jewelry.

Watched the A-Team with Bunny a while back. She got disgusted after about 20 minutes and said "This is sort of a dumb show, isn't it?" I said , "yeah, but fun." When they shows George Peppard's pale saggy manboobs we both decided to call it a show and check the next ep.

Me, I'm a Face/Murdock sort. BA never really did much for me.

Eeee, A-Team! That was my favorite show for so long in the 80s, and I still enjoy it now.

The best part is, of course, the back and forth between Murdock and B.A. Even the boy admits that they're in love.

B.A. never did much for me, but I so loved Murdock. If you find any slash with him or them, please share the links!

My favorite moment is when they're at some theme park and a Cylon walks by Face and Face pauses with a "Was that what I thought it was?" look on his face and moves on.

Just sharing the Battlestar Galactica love.

Oh, that right. You don't have any. :-P

Anyhow, I think Orlando Jones would make a good Murdoch. Just picture him selling magazines in Office Space.

B.A. is troublesome because there really isn't anyone like Mr. T. He's kind of unique like that. It's the shortness that's getting to me. Chris Judge could do it because he carries off eye shadow well, and if we're going to update, we could update into eyeshadow, but he seems almost too tall. Still, he's the only one I can think of when it comes to sheer muscles.

It's on Spike TV, also known as TNN, the Nashville Network or the National Network.

Just because I have a kink for it, I'd cast Callum Keith Rennie as Murdoch opposite Paul Gross as Face. I do so want to see those two work together again.

I was going to suggest that guy who play Greg on CSI (sorry, but sometimes I can't even remember my own name) for Murdock, but now that you said it, CKR is the obvious choice.
And of course we could always have Michael Shanks as Face, RDA as Hannibal, Christopher Judge as B.A.. Though I'd prefer Janet Fraiser (again, the name thing) as Murdock instead of Amanda Tapping.
And then we start a Face/Hannibal slash campaign. Well, I do.

I love Murdock. :)

I'd like to see them cross over to some other show, but I'm not sure which one.

If you're thinking about sticking within the same time period, Dukes of Hazzard might work...

Well, Hudson Leick kicked ass as Callisto on Xena, so I'm thinking she's got that schtick down.

Or the chick who played Marita on XF. She was stone cold most of the time.

I dunno, I just like recasting Mr. T. with an attitudinal blonde chick who can do a lot of damage. It amuses me.

L.A. Law.

Come on! You know yu wanna see Michael Kuzak and Grace Van Owen fighting side by side with Face and B.A. *g*

[identity profile] thistle-chaser.livejournal.com 2003-11-26 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh, L.A. Law. I never really watched that one much, though I recall the names.

They hit B.A. on the head with an oar so they could get him into a helicopter.

*falls off chair giggling*

Yes. Precisely.

Oooh, we're playing 'Cast That Character'! I love that game!
Mel Gibson as Hannibal. Mel with cigar and grin in 'Maverick'? I think he could do it. :)
Jim Carrey as Murdoch. Truman Show. Foggy mirror space helmet is all I have to say.
I'm actually gonna go with Brad Pitt as Face. He's cute enough and he has charm.
Urgh, B.A. No idea. Does he have to be black black? Vin Diesel would look good throttling Carrey. And Vin can act in love with a van.
(my cast will be expensive, but hey, it's my dream world...)

And Danny Elfman will write the score. And Antonia Bird and Tim Burton will direct. Oh, and Amy! Amy shall be played by Lori Petti. Evil Guy is of course portrayed by Gary Oldman. *rubs hands together* :P
