So, someone is going through the X-Files stories on my website and leaving "slash is rong" feedback in the commenting system. For the stories that aren't slash, few though they are, I get "I hate it so much".

Actually, they seem to have got bogged down around the Fs, so I may be denied further critique.

I've got to say, this a pretty poor effort. It's barely annoying and the "flames" are so mild that they're not even that funny. I suppose it might take me a bit of time at the weekend removing them (unless I decide to leave them up) but that's about it.

What happened to pride in flaming? Surely they could come up with something to say that would raise my ire. This doesn't even motivate me to block their IP.

I feel quite slighted that I don't merit higher quality work.

Oh, well, maybe they'll be shocked into brilliance once they get to the Harry Potter stories.

Pendrell is NOT dead!! And I remember your XF stories very fondly, especially the Pendrell-centric ones. *deep sigh for the Lab Rat* Actually, I snuck a Pendrell clone into my Nouveau Montmartre universe. He works in forensics. I fear Mulder is hiding in the same basement somewhere, eating sunflower seeds....

These don't really count as flames; they're more like a plate that's a little too hot so you put it down right away.

I'm honestly surprised I haven't been flamed more. Aside from ff.n, there's been hardly any at all. None for cannibalism, none for necro -- what's a girl got to do?

Most of my ff.n flames were for Star Wars, which seems to make people more emotional, especially about slash.

My fave was the one that chewed me out because "Obi-Wan's not gay. Maybe Luke, but not Obi-Wan."

Having experienced some truly spectacular flames in my own fannish career, I truly understand your point about the lameness of this flamer. People, if you are going to leave flames, get up off your lazy ass and consult a thesaurus. It's the least you can do. Don't just singe our hearts, roast them, crisp them, and turn them to ash.

I think that we need to blame to poor flaming curriculum in schools, don't you?
