I skip fic depending on my mood. For example, I read everything with my current OTP (or my favourite school when it comes to PoT) but unless I have a hankering for random reading, I usually don't read other stuff.
It's really nothing to do with the time posted and more to do with the amount of time I have to spend on LJ.
*ponders* I haven't had much experience posting fic, but I can offer timezone suggestions in terms of posting art. It takes up less time to look at fanart, I think, so people generally have an easier time of leaving comments. I keep very odd hours, so I post at very random times, and I've noticed that it doesn't really matter what time I post. If people like it, they'll comment. If they don't, they ignore it.
