Hahaha, yeah, I feel sort of bad for authors who get me in fic exchanges because I... get embarrassingly form-happy and then type until I'm breaking the comment character-limit and have listed, like, fifty things I'd like to receive and another fifty I'd never want to read in my life. Which is misleading because generally I'm pretty happy reading anything with certain characters or pairings. Like, for example, I don't think I would have ever requested someone write a data pair fic that featured hair-cutting, and yet, I sure wouldn't say no to such a story appearing on my flist. ;)

If the boys are in character and the story is interesting, that's all I ask.

Exactly. The sign-ups are meant as a springboard, but only that. Most of the stuff I request is stuff that interests me about a pairing, but sometimes I can be sort of narrow-minded XD, and I want to see what interests and captivates the author as well.
