Ohmygod. That was... that was... I am blown away, because it was so Inui, so Kaidoh and it hurt, oh, it hurt but it was worth it, it was beautiful, and the ending, oh.

Kaidoh will stay as long as it takes Inui to count to 300 or 301 or 302. Inui hates to count it, but he can't help himself.

This line started an ache in my heart, and it wouldn't go away, because Inui, Inui, he was hurting and he didn't know how to deal with it and you portrayed it so perfectly and and

"What...whatever I did," Kaidoh says and his voice is harsh. "Senpai, please."

That line made me stop breathing for a moment, because Kaidoh didn't understand either, these boys, you made me feel for them so much hear, you made them break my heart and put it back together.

"But you're so busy," Kaidoh says against Inui's skin. And finally Inui understands the counting, the leaving.

That line brought tears to my eyes because it's so Kaidoh, to think that but not say anything, because he understands independence, he understands not wanting to be in the way, but it's him, it's him and it's Inui, so he's not, because, because

"No. Yes. But it's okay." Inui kisses the back of Kaidoh's neck, just a press of his lips against the top of the spine. "If it's you."

Yes, yes, that is it exactly.

This fic was one of the most beautiful things I've ever read. Thank you for writing it, for sharing it. I've been shipping InuKai, but this pulls them up to OTP status for me, I think.

But yes, this was a beautiful, magnificent piece of writing.
