Letters to LJ

Dear Americans:

Did you watch Doctor Who? Did you like it? Now do you know why we were all going on about it?

Dear Canadians:

How long must we wait for a Trailer Park Boys/Corner Gas crossover? Wanda/Bubbles is so meant to be.

Dear people who are watching Prince of Tennis for the first time:

How I envy you!

Dear Remix characters:

Please shape up. I'm so close to being done. You don't want anything worse to happen, do you? Cause I can kill you with my brain.

Dear me:

Don't forget to eat supper.

Love to all,
Hal

Dear people who are watching Prince of Tennis for the first time:

Is it just me or did PoT within the last week or so just suddenly, like, massively explode all over fandom?

please note my strenuous lack of complaint :D

Hm. I liked DW well enough, but wasn't instantly captivated, OMG, forever n' ever. I think part of this is having never seen the show before in its long history, and also being stuck on the second episode so cheerfully ripping of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Will give it my continued attention, however.

Dear You,

I quite enjoyed last season's Dr. His plus one was decent too. In fact, given that it was my first Who, I placed it somewhere above Trek and below Farscape on my white-person Sci Fi favorite chart.

Maybe it was built up too much for me by fans, but I found the latest Dr Who pretty underwhelming. Capt Jack was, of course, a big bag of awesome, but I don't think I've ever been so consistently annoyed by a tv character as much as I was with Rose (bumping Smallville's Lana to the no.2 "Mary Sues on tv" list) and the Doctor was ... eh. There were many great (and scary) bits, but overall I kept being a little creeped out by the weird sugar-daddy vibe I felt between Rose and the Doctor.

Yes, I liked it a lot, and I'd never followed (seen a bit of, but not really followed) a Dr. Who series before. Looking forward to the next episodes.
