What is eleemosynary?
OK, lame title, I know.
Yesterday I was reading a book on design and DTP. It was all very straightforward and useful. And then I came across a word I had never seen before: eleemosynary.
About all I could tell from looking at it was it's from Greek. I looked it up and it means "relating to charity, alms, or almsgiving; intended for the distribution of charity".
So now we know. What I don't know is why the author felt compelled to use such a word.
The final trailer for The Matrix Reloaded is out. My god, it looks wonderful. At this point, I don't even care about the story -- everything looks so stylish and the fighting so amazing, that I'm sure I'll sit there goggle-eyed and slack-jawed regardless. I've already sat goggle-eyed and slack-jawed through the trailer about ten times.
And I love love love Neo's coat. It looks very clerical to me -- long, black, high collar, almost like a skirt. Like this (link, not cut)
Of course, my special treat is Agent Smith. What a honey.
