Okay, it's interesting to see what you've got... Makes sense to me. Personally I was interested in your mental working-through of the story (really, 'justification' seems too strong a word) because I had been contemplating writing a story that deals with the same issue, but stopped writing due to personal squicks with making a character the 'bad guy' for cheating on his wife. (Damned Judeo-Christian morals..) It is true that it's not such a big deal to sleep around on your wife (or husband, for that matter) in Japan, especially when compared to the States. Something that I've always been curious about is whether things are as easily looked over or forgiven when love is involved, as opposed to just an extramarital physical relationship. (On the other hand, love-marriages are still a relatively new thing in Japan, and even nowadays there are people who choose to have arranged marriages instead of marrying people they are just attracted to..)

--Storywise, Momo did come off as sounding very confident that his wife wouldn't mind (which made me wonder if they were in some sort of swinger relationship and she was hoping he'd bring over some other hot guys.. >.>) ...Blustering or not, it just seemed a little callous to his wife. (But then, I'm a girl.. I don't want mansmex when it hurts -me- :P)

It's still a great story. ^^ It's neat to see your thoughts on it.
