The course of true love never did run smooth.
This Jack/Daniel ficathon is kicking my ass. I thought this would be a good way to kind of jump me into writing some more serious Stargate fic, but it's just not turning out that way. The requests of my recipient were not onerous or restrictive but I'm having trouble anyhow. So far I've come up with:
* a not-bad alternate history idea that would probably take 5000+ words to pull off, which I don't think I have time for
* a silly humour idea that I might write anyhow, just not for this
* many thoughts about Jack and Harry that are writing themselves in the back of my brain while I try to focus on Jack and Daniel
* a boring character vignette idea
I may have to add some sort of random element, like "have them play a game" or "use the phrase 'hat trick' and the colour 'azure'" to come up with a viable idea. And my recipient is on my friendslist, so brace yourself -- it could be you!
(Hmm, I suppose all the time I spend gazing at Roy Mustang on my desktop isn't helping either. *g*)

See, if only you sucked at fic, you could just write the Jack/Harry then do a find n replace for the names. This is what you get for not sucking at fic. It's... karma, almost.

When I get stuck, I try to write it backwards... If, umm, that helps in any way. (omg yay rite bakwardz it r teh kewlness!)

Possibly I shouldn't have spent my weekend watching anime.

Argh about crossovers not being allowed, though. Maybe you just need someone to lob random ideas against your mental wall until something sticks?
Grapefruit. Scuttling lobsters. Ping-pong.

(If you don't have anything helpful to say, don't say anything at all. Got it.)
