I am back home again from my sororal visit. I looked in the airport giftshop for a t-shirt that said I went to Kelowna and all I got was this massive dose of radiation but all I could find was pictures of Ogopogo.

I actually spent nearly as much time online as I would have anyhow, but I didn't reply to any email and couldn't do any writing. I did try to work out some plots, etc. One morning, after I'd got up in the small hours to go the bathroom, I went back to bed and tried thinking up a Hermione/George scenario for kormantic. But I fell asleep again and all I can remember is that I paired off everyone else -- a number of Weasleys and Harry and Hermione -- and that left Fred for me. Second best is still good, I suppose.

Talked Harry Potter with the Boy, my sister and brother-in-law and we came up with some interesting stuff about the twins which I won't divulge as I hope to incorporate into fic at some point. Also we drank a lot. And watched Firefly.

I've randomly stumbled across this post, and Kelowna! Don't know about the radiation, but I'm from the Okanagan myself, so Kelowna's my home airport. Actually, the gift shop's usually where whoever is sending me off gets their last frantic wave-through-the-glass in. I know it well.

But yes, all you can find in there is Ogopogo. Unless you want a grizzly bear or totem pole statue. Or smoked salmon. Or one of the books about the fires last summer which multiplied by the hundreds everywhere last fall. Ah, home. ;)

Hee! The radiation thing is a Stargate reference. One of the places they visited was called Kelowna (a country, not the planet -- the planet is now named Langara!) and there was an incident with radiation there. I always grin when they talk about Kelowna on the show.

There's something dangerously wrong with you. Although knowing Kelowna is an actual place makes this make a lot more sense. Huh.

I suppose if I actually lived there, the excitement would wear off, but since I was just visiting, I was in a bit of a giggle zone over it. Never did see sweet Jonas, though.
